The coin that was in there is definitely a bit thicker and and has more of a bronze colour? It doesn't slide easily into the coinmech as well, you have to push it in. Another pound coin just slides in and gets pushed out easily. Wonder if this is maybe not a genuine coin?

Got the coinmech out! I think it just needs a bit of cleaning. Seems as though the pound got stuck.

Why are you dismantling the machine for a coin mech jam. You need to release the coin mech by putting your hand in through the coin tray hole and pull a little lever down on the right hand side of the mech. I feel totally embarred and totally frustrated, because I have a coin mech jam, but I can't loosen the nut on the threaded bar - it is just so tight. This is the second machine I've tried to dismantle. I just can't see it being that difficult!
