Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
Thanks for the advice - I suspect you're right, and I'd rather start that way.
Anyway, sorry we couldn't do business on the machines - all the best.

Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
I can understand all the working outs your are doing and profit margins etc But I think you are looking into it far too much( IMO) Unless of course you are about to spend massive amounts of cash to start off??but best thing to do is buy a few second hand machines a bit of stock and see how it goes....

Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
Hello Eustace and welcome to the forum of opinions. :D Firstly I am a former franchisor in vending and although no longer use said legal structure still retain the good bits of what was learned from operating as, obviously you have performed extensive diligence and are an intelligent individual so ...

Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
[What I do know is that if I pay a 20% commission, I am going to need a lot - and I mean, a lot - of towers and sites before this even begins to look profitable, taking into account all overheads - including the commission itself, stock, fuel and travel costs, business insurance, vehicle insurance,...

Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
All it takes is someone in your area to offer the sites a commission, and all of a sudden you have lots of machines sitting at home. Offering commission when it's too late could be seen as an insult to the site owner. Well, I just don't know. Maybe if I work hard at finding sites, it won't matter i...

Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
1, put tower in, 2, go back in a month, 3, top it up, 4, empty cash, 5, give site 20%, 6, clean tower, 7, say goodbye and leave. job done, simples Ade Each of these steps involves expense, some obvious, some hidden. Yes, the process itself is simple, but behind it there are numerous costs. However ...

Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
Hi Eustace, Dave's given you some good advice.....use it. I've read you initial post and if I applied them to my business I'd be down to 40-50 sited machines, which is no use to me as I run a full time business. But is the extra profit you earn through the 40-50 additional machines worth the additi...

Re: New to vending - seeking advice and guidance.
Oh God no, I'm not trying to re-write the business model or teach Grandma how to suck eggs. I suppose the problem is I have a naturally critical mind and I tend to want to understand how a business works at a deeper level than most. I can see, and I accept, there are benefits in paying commissions. ...
