New pound coin

Has anyone tried the new pound coin in red products condom machines? will it work on a three pound vend with a mixture of old and new coins as there will be a period of time with both in circulation?

If you can get us a mech will try for you , but I have a feeling they are good no to be too big for all mechanical coin mechs

Hello everyone!

I'm new to this and just setting up (first tubz vending Towers to be sited by Barbara next week) and am concerned about the new pound coin. What does this mean for my towers? Will they be useless when the current pound coin disappears or will I be able to modify my towers? Will it be expensive to do so?

You will only need to change the coin carrier inside the coin mech.
Easy job and only 8-10 pound per machine.

The only problem is going to be when do you change them over, as I presume the coin mechs on mechanicals wont take both old & new coin. Can anyone enlighten me?

Apparently the Chinese coin carrier is being manufactured to take the old and new coin. Not sure about clenport.

think we can probably expect also to get a huge increase in sales in the run-up as people look to get rid of their old £1 coins. I'm sure that will more than cover cost of the upgrade.
