Re: discarpa coin mechs
I've been doing these as per my previous post on this thread. I forgot I didn't answer Ade's questions on here as we spoke on the phone shortly afterwards, sorry!Lynda at skavend wrote:Hi, has anyone managed to solve this or is it a case of needing to buy replacements mechanisms x 2 per machine?
I'm not finding them any more difficult than the tomys and other similar mechs. The key with these is to only file on one side of the "coin gap". NOT the side the coin rests on (the lower side), as the coin is side loading this many make the old coin fall out. Take enough off the "upper side" of the coin gap for the new coin to slide in comfortably and remove the pin on that side also. That will give you the width and depth for the new coin.
Now the new coin should pass but the old coin won't. It is possible to get both to work but there is much more work involved. I have both going though with no extra work but I've had to make small compromise. This makes the mech a little less secure but I have MANY on site and have done for months with NOT a single issue so far. I'll happily share via PM but am a little hesitant to post this information on a public forum
Cheers, Jay.
