Re: Freebies
Hi Pablo
It depends on the site. Some sites you just breeze in and breeze out and don't see anyone, other sites where you actually get to speak to them, it depends on the 'mood' of the visit and also if there is stock which is near dated . Giving freebies I feel should only be done as and when you think it is necessary or when you are having a laugh with the site and you end the conversation with a thank you and here's one for you to enjoy later. It builds good customer relationships but it should not be a habit as that does not do much for long term relationships because the moment you don't give that expected freebie they can turn negative towards you.
Having staff service the vendors, then that is a different approach. We had zero freebies as this could be turned into a great way for the staff to skim from you, so limitation is key here. If any freebies were given then they had to make a record of it for auditing purposes.
Regards,
Barbara

Re: Freebies
Very few, when the manager/owners kids are around I tend to treat them.
I went into a site last week, rubbish site, first visit for 3 months, had £7 in it, removed machine. Cheeky cow asked me for spare samples because "we really like sweets here"
