Re: H4H Donations
Just trying to get my head around this
from HMRC
VAT and sponsorship http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/businesses/givin ... ship.htm#4" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Sponsorship payments
If a charity agrees to give your company something in return for the sponsorship payment(s), then the whole of the payment is considered a 'taxable business supply' for VAT purposes. This means that the charity may have to account for VAT on the money it gets. It usually applies if you do a deal with a charity under which it's obliged to give your business something that benefits it significantly, like publicity.
For example, if your company sponsored a charity in return for the right for your logo to appear on its website, this could be a supply of services on which the charity would have to account for VAT. The size or prominence of the logo doesn't really matter - it's the fact that you've paid for the right to have it displayed that counts. The same would apply if the charity agreed to give you the right to use its own logo on your material in return for your sponsorship.
Donations
In some cases a charity may give your business something as small as an acknowledgement of your payment. It's not part of any sponsorship deal, just a way for the charity to thank you for your support. In this situation your payment is treated as a donation for VAT purposes, meaning that the charity doesn't have to account for VAT on it.
Some examples of things a charity could give you to acknowledge your support without having to account for VAT include:
• flags, lapel pin badges and stickers
• a mention in its list of sponsors - perhaps in a programme or on a notice
• naming a building or university chair after you
• putting your name on the back of a seat in a theatre
You can read more about VAT and sponsorship payments to charities in Notice 701/41 Sponsorship.
Not sure how we stand with this but its late and I havent had a beer yet
Cheers

Re: H4H Donations
right read all this and kept out till now lol, firstly tubz vending are a full of **** company, secondly if h4h are behind this its because of operators who have set up on h4h and are not donating, thirdly they wont and will not stop the donations on the bmy route, you really think its just us vendors on that??? there`s millions of people donating through it. and even if they did whats stopping you sending h4h a cheque?
send all money to tubz vending
bet some of you still do it though

Re: H4H Donations
Having a little think about it, maybe there is more to this than just H4H.
I am not saying this is the case but,as you have to fill out forms of all your sales ect, its a great way for suppliers to find out all your sites, find out what is your best sellers and also if people are self packing.
When i got the e-mail i wasn't best pleased but not too worried now.

Re: H4H Donations
Sweet Jesus would everyone please listen to Ade on this one. WHY would a multi million pound charity ask operators to send their charity donations to a piddly sweet company to " wash " their money first before receiving it. If they did ask this , it's because tubz vending have done something wrong to start with. Who is going to monitor tubz vending to see what they received and what they actually send on. Deal direct with H4H. Do NOT send tubz vending your money. H4H employ top of the range accountants and would not allow this to happen. You must see a scam for what it is....a scam.
Oh and by the way , could you all send me your site commissions directly and I will count it, sort it , skim it and after 3 months send SOME of it to your site owners for you. It's for tax purposes . Look forward to your donations. Oh and could you all include your site details and addresses and slaes data too please.

Re: H4H Donations
not entirely true, as h4h should be declaring vat as an income if they are that concerned. Agreed commisions are a grey area but Im sure a multi million pound CHARITY business knows how to sort out minorities like that

Re: H4H Donations
Big Chris...Monthly would be better as I don't want work to get on top of me. And I'll earn more interest on it too. Oh and I'll need everyone's bank details cos you all won the lottery in outer Momgolia and I need your details to send you your share, and a cheque for 50,000 to cover expenses......
Ade ....it's going great with Sweetfix. Sweets taste grand, they look brilliant in the machine , I don't need stickers on the machines as it says Sweetfix on the FRONT of each tub so everyone knows what the machine holds. Delivery cost was very reasonable, and came 2 days early except I wasn't contactable to receive it lol. I had a follow up call after delivery to check all was ok, except I missed it, ( my fault again ) and no big sales calls harrassing me. I did mention to Jonny that I need another pallet the week after but he didn't hassle me for it which is brilliant. AND I just have this calmness that I know I can believe what they tell me. And that if I ring for something they are there for the customer. never had that before. Only mistake is I didn't switch over a long time ago. Have no sales data yet but will let you know when I have.

Noel, so glad its worked out for you, the no hassle side is quite invaluable when your trying to run a buisness and your phones not going off every 5 mins for an order, i couldnt use another supplier now.and know exactly what you mean with their packaging, they got it spot on, nice to hear another success story as think when i harped on about how good they were people thought i was just bigging up my supplier to get them buisness. not so, was just telling truth. long may it continue.
Regards
Ade
