Re: The end of cigerette vending
Surely you can simply put the vending machine behind the bar and the staff sell the customers cigarettes?

Re: The end of cigerette vending
Ok i dont want this thread to fizzle out. I have been offered 40 sited ciggerete machines for 2K so i have a intrest in this project.
The best i can come up with is selling top quality none perisable savory products in the machines. Cashews and other nuts. Maybe some type of biscuts with fancy cheese. Cheese and pickles. A chocolate biscut type of thingimajig. Jaffa cakes etc.
You would need to spend a bit of money on artwork to atract attention to the machine maybe with a back light. The multi mech means we could charge enough to pay the pub 25% - 30% commisson so not to affect bar sales profits.
So tubz vending..... Hurleys......Sweetfix..... could it be an earner for u guys???? Think about it tens of hundreds of redundant fag machines already sited around the country!!!

Re: The end of cigerette vending
Just been to one of my sites for a refill and they had a cigarette machine installed yesterday !!! ok it`s out of sight and the customer cannot use the machine but signage behind the bar indicates cigarettes for sale.. customer pays over the bar for them ... barstaff go get them from vending machine.... Time will tell if this works or not

That is legal, as far as I am aware.

Re: The end of cigerette vending
Oh yes it is legal, he described it as "secure sales" as opposed to vending. I was wondering in light of recent articles I have seen on Drinks vending ( alcoholic by the pint etc) if the purchase of tokens for cigarette machines over the bar would still constitute direct vending as opposed to putting cash directly into a machine. In theory the tokens would constitute "secure sales" and the machine a mere dispenser of the pre-purchased product. Of course operators would need to sell the tokens to the premises on a sale or return basis... Ooops rambling again !!!
I know it would never work just a thought
