Chinese machine quality just getting worse and worse!
Has anyone else noticed this?
The Chineses machines that I have that are a few years old are of reasonable quality.
These are the ones with the smaller keys.(vending tower.com)
The ones that are from a tubz vending round that I bought last year are absolute garbage!
(snack tower.com)
They have bigger (Toyvend size) keys and the locks are of inferior quality, it is so easy to strip the threads as they are loose screwing into the back bar even when they are new.
The mechs feel clunky and does not turn so smoothly and also the coin carriers are not milled out big enough too except some £1 coins.
Also noticed some of the segments are milky and that the mech handles have lots of play, even when new.
The handle tolerences are critical as if they are too slack the coin carrier moves so much that a genuine £1 coin is prohibited from turning in the carrier by the first little spring loaded finger
The companies that are offering machines of this Quality to new intrants into this Business should be ashamed of themselves!
People who try to grow a Business on equipment that is provided sub standard from new dont stand a chance.
If anyone has bought theses machines from new I reckon a call to trading standerds would be worth a try, not fit for purpose IMO!

Oh tell me.........................
I bought my first tower from Glenn, was charged over the top and the key broke, was promised replacements, it never happened.
Yes new and niave.
To be fair I fuck3d up and was my fault, however learnt from it. Have so far ordered £600 from Hurleys

hi , pm me , thought you had sorted it out and never realised it was a serious issue. From memory didnt we send you a brand new machine for secondhand money. It was from a batch we got off bigvend when he shut up his round and never realised there was an issue with them . Will arrange to take it back and refund you. Glenn

It was a new machine and it was me that ballsed up, you were going to send me a new lock and backplate if you remember, but that was not your fault the locks are inferior and I have replaced them now.
Its sited now so not a problem, when I say I was charged over the top thats a bit harsh, but there are bargains to be had out there

I have found the ones with ribbed sides more problamatic than the smooth ones.
Just out of interest, are Clenporte selling to any company now, subject to a minimum order of machines etc.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Chinese machine quality just getting worse and worse!
There is sense in buying better quality towers. Most of mine are Chinese and compared to the Clenporte they are inferior.
I have a large area and when I am called out to a misvending machine, it costs time and fuel. I understand that the Clenporte ones are more robust and out of the ones, I have, no faults have occurred to date. Therefore, having good ones can save you money and also hold their value a bit more.
If I could buy Clenport for under £100, I would be interested in a few.

Re: Chinese machine quality just getting worse and worse!
I have clenports for £105 not vat. BRAND NEW.
I think when you get to a certain size buying new is what its about.
Heres why I do.
I have about 15 used machines kicking about at any one time that go in to new sites weekly and then the new clenport pringles and towers go in to my best sites to keep them happy. Some landlords and site owners like the fact you put in new machinery as it shows you care about there business and the way you wish to portray yourself. Also for good sites that you have just aquired putting in new machines gives them a good impression of you and you know the site has reliable equipment.
I don't have a problem with the chinese machines but wouldn't choose to buy them unlesss dirt cheap or I inherited them in a round bought.
Also clenports have 2 year warranty so any problems and they will sort it out for you.
Paul PM if you need some clenports I have about 6 left.
Cheers
Jonny
