I have had three barrels in chinese m/cs break up on me over the last two weeks.
It is the thin piece of cylindrical metal at the back of the barrel that always goes.
This coupled with the complete crap locks that toyvend are also guilty of using makes me wish I had all clenport machines in my operation now!
Has anyone tried transplanting a clenport mini can barrel into a chinese mini can tower?
if so, does it Vend OK?
I am greasing the back of the barrel on each of the machines I have going out and will gradually do this to all my Chinese ones, as I believe that its a combination of lack of lubrication and being forced, due to misvending.
I am also lifting the barrel up, where there is play in the mech ( up and down), by putting a piece of plastic from a small cable, over the lip, before re inserting the mech. I use a 1.5mm twin and earth cable, take the cables out, by splitting the outer plastic with a knife and it slips over nicely. When you put the mech back, it lifts it and the barrel up.
If I have not explained this well enough, please let me know and I will put a pic up.
I hope it doesn't turn out to be a common weak point in the Chinese machines.
My Vending Revolution Chinese bulks where great for years then all of a sudden when 4 years old, the coin mechs snapped in a weak spot (unrepairable) and they all went one after another. It was very strange as at first I blamed user error, but it was just down to very cheap manufacturing.
I hope this isn't the same situation with the Chinese towers.
It could be Daz.
I have had my earliest Chinese machines from the end of 2007.
sorry to say in all three cases it was the earliest machines ( I can tell by the key numbers).
I have tons of spares but changing the barrel is very time consuming!
I may just strip the machines and skip the bases if they dont work with the clenport barrels
I have just done it.
Ran £30 thru and no jamms, seems to work fine in my studio!
lets see how it works on site before I guarantee the Transplant was 100% successful and the chinese tower dosen't reject the foriegn part!
