Re: Public Liability Insurance
You need public liabilty with the big machines deffo, if one falls on someone and kills them or you injure someone/something when moving them.
Seems a bit expensive, did you tell them your estimated turnover? I know a few of the guys got a good deal from simply business.

Hi Steve,
PLI is vital from the outset, as you could be sued for thousands, if a machine falls on a child, or anyone gets hurt with a machine you operate. Simply Business are the best in my oppinion.

I have just got £5 million of public liability insurance with Premier line direct for £97.66 and you can pay this over 4 instalments at no extra cost. (http://www.premierlinedirect.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

Re: Public Liability Insurance
I am being run around in circles, premierlinedirect state they do not do PL on its own and put me through to a sister company - something like One Business? They gave me a silly quote of £180 and when I said it was too expensive they said they would get back to me.............................still waiting
As Venderbase questions has anyone ever claimed I suspect not, so a little surprised why so expensive

Re: Public Liability Insurance
Hi Steve,
Unfortunately any type of insurance is a big con. It is the only legalised sector that takes your money and you never see it again...
All we get is quotes and estimates... we should turn round to them and say we estimate we owe you lot f**k all !!!!
try vend direct they will cover you on any type of vending machines.. choice vending & flint vending had policies with them...but not sure if they do now?? worth a ask on the private side of the forum??

Re: Public Liability Insurance
The above made me chuckle
Sorted now, I ended up ringing Simply Business and explaining exactly what i would be doing, I asked for advice on how much to cover which they can't give!!!! I opted for 1 million cover (bearing in mind only 2 big machines and one tower) for £82 which is certainly better than other quotes. I have no doubt I will never claim but at least I have a certificate now.
No doubt it will be as useful as my 20 metre backstroke cert!!!!
