Hi guys,
Does anyone vend 45x50mm capsules (such as Super Sticky Animals) through an F2, instead of 45mm bouncy balls? I have a site not wanting balls and was going to put these caps through instead, and when I've tried a few they seem to go through ok but wondered if anyone else does this, and if there is anything I need to be aware of?
Many thanks, Mark

I've found the egg shaped capsules don't jam in the F2s.

Thanks for that Dorset Vending, the problem I suppose is that the egg shape capsules are normally 20p.
I've ran a few 45x50mm through mine and it seemed ok, although they are not egg shaped, more oval. Do you think that would be a problem? It seemed to work on the few I tried, but wanted a second opinion before I put it on site.
Cheers, Mark

From my experience the f2s I have only work well with bouncy balls. In the one site I have capsules in I leave a few with the staff when I fill up in case it misvends

Hi popp665, thats a good idea - although I sat and vending through about 30 capsules today without a problem, but good idea to leave a few capsules just in case
Cheers, Mark

Re: Vending 45x50mm capsules in F2's
I have experience of this.
I converted many of my F2s to £1 vend several years ago and now use 50mm Licensed tomy capsules (hot wheel flick cars, puppy palz etc..........)
They work well but the agitator springs are two strong for the capsules as they were designed to keep 45mm bouncy balls from clogging.
I take all those heavy duty springs off the agitator and replace with just one much softer spring.
if you don't do this you will get capsules coming open.
I found egg shape capsules do not always roll out of the delivery chute reliably and customers often tip the machine if they get stuck.
Far better to use the 50mm capsules that are perfect spheres.

Re: Vending 45x50mm capsules in F2's
Hi Nigel, thanks for the reply! I was hoping to hear form someone who had tried this :) When I was testing mine I only put a few capsules in, so didn't really think about the agitator springs breaking open the capsules, but that is a good point.... can I ask where you got the softer spring?
Good point about the capsules not rolling down the chute correctly too - a couple of times I thought the capsules had clogged, but both times it was simply that they were sat in the chute - a bit of polish sorted that out!
Thanks again,
Mark

Re: Vending 45x50mm capsules in F2's
hi Mark
softer springs from engineering supplier, normally found in industrial estates.
polish on inside of chute is only a temporary fix as the chute angle of incline is the problem.
I would definately recommend not using the egg shape capsules, you are just asking for trouble.
Use the 50mm round capsules from toyvend or ATN, it will make your life easier!!

Re: Vending 45x50mm capsules in F2's
The problem with the older F2 (and other machines of a similar age) is the irregular shape of the inside of the dispensing wheel. Newer machine have a more circular (usually 3 of) opening for the capsules to drop. They also now have a spring to shut off and to dispence a single item, this will also distend slighty to allow tollerence for different shaped or oversized items.
