I've been operating hundreds of Clenports for many years - during this time lock problems have been very rare.

I had a problem like this a few years ago. The problem was the nib on the outside of the key broke off. This ment the key could pull out of the lock anywhere on the 360 degree cycle thus the pins fell out of the lock and jamming it

I've had this problem from time to time with Clenport locks. I removed the lock on each machine and gave it a good blast with WD40 into the keyhole and on the barrel of the lock and it certainly loosened them up, I don't think it's a permanent solution but I haven't had to replace them yet.
