dodgy traders

lloyd buys scrap machines that have chillers missing/broken and dented and some are literally ready for the scrap yard. Then he wipes them over gets them working(in a fashion) and puts them on ebay...with a 12 month warranty (his ebay name is boattrip1357 but dont say i say i told you lol) and has machines on at the moment. he tends to target newcomers or taxi rank owners who want to vend their own products. Also his trick is to get the money upfront to buy the scrap machines...his refurbishment consists of wiping over the machine and thats it!!!! if it is dented he fills the dents with body filler and sprays them with car spray paint just to look ok to get your money.I have spoke to several people who have been ripped of by this guy....

Selling business to business is completely different with very little comeback or none at all. None of it is covered by sales of goods etc.

You would be suprised of the rights B2B. Most items are covered by The trade description act 1974.

I would phone Citizens advice they can be very helpful.

Most of it is for consumer protection. I promise you selling trade to trade is a minefield with sales of goods act or trading standards not helping much. Citizens advice would put you in touch with business link whom in turn will put you in touch with a free solicitor who will give you advise for an hour to educate you slightly more. Whom then in turn push you to let them take on the case for you at your expense.

Sounds like you have had some bad service and problems.

CAB were able to confirm the 1974 act does concern B2B goods transactions. Which led me to hire a Debt collection agency after a supplier I purchased a custom made product from did not deliver on the job and openly admitted it. Debt collection agency backed up what CAB said without me saying a word, If a good or service is not fit for purpose and not as described you are entitled to a full refund or product replacement to your satisfaction.

Personally I would not use a solicitor unless the matter was extremely complex and you were likely to need specialist representation. Most transactions involve a purchase if that is not as described then the purchase turns in to a 1 sided debt which can then be passed to a debt collection company who will then be utterly ruthless in there approach to getting you your money back.

Of course all of the above assumes the person you are targeting is capable or has the assets that can be stripped in order to pay the debt if not then using a debt collector, solicitor or chief superintendent of the London Metropolitan please force cannot help you.

If all of the above fails find another way to skin the cat!!

well, well, well i noticed today after searching through ebay that lloyd cresswell has changed his ebay account in the last couple of days.....his user name is now (castleone78). he is that stupid, he has put the same photo's on as the last account and same wording......hahahahahahaha he must think we are all as stupid as he is!!! no...wait!!! that is impossible...... what a utter and complete loser!!!!

Paying for goods and not supplying them which has a paper trail yes is a lot easier to chase up it is border line fraud, and as Im sure you are well aware baliffs will collect gladly for anything over £1000 but Im 99% sure that traders selling to traders have no such guarantees the same as consumers do when purchasing from suppliers.

I too have been ripped off with this guy. He promised to replace a faulty machine then sent me an email attachment which was probably a forged document claiming he had been made bankrupt.

Hes lucky I dont live nearer or he would be getting a visit.
