has any one else seen these and if so are they legit.
i saw them in Norwich.

Hi Clare. Those dam honesty are everywhere in Essex. do what i do, tell your sites they're massive con and the only people making any money are the ones bringing in the boxes. Al.
Hi Alan
Must disagree there, the people bringing in the boxes (operators) are extremely lucky if they make anything.
It is the charity and the Franchsior who make the money here, definately NOT the poor soul running round placing the boxes.
I know of three individuals who had honesty box franchisees for Barnados, sweets for life and the Cancer research respectfully. None of them made any real money. One of them was able to sell it back to the Franchisor for what she paid, she was very Lucky IMO!
For all these guys sweating about these being on site, you just have too weather it for a few months.
If its a Pub, the box will soon be gone as the poor operators get sick of giving away sweets for free, this is why the towers suffer so badly initially, wouldnt you rather stick a couple of coppers into an honesty box rather than put a pound in a tower?

Vendingwarehouse wrote:Were the sweets in Bags or tubz vending containers Clare ? If suppliers are going to start this s h i t then I'm gonna start producing tubz vending myself. This would be the death of vending towers if they continue this. And lets face it, their business won't survive by just supplying honesty boxes. That's how short sighted they are.
Dont jump too conclusions here Noel.
I operate Norwich too and know all the Facts about this local Barnados guy!
His round is on its knees, the Franchisor couldn't supply chocolates in the barnados bags so gave the franchisee permission to get his chocolate from another source, oddly, he decided to put tubz vending in his boxes?
I guess he was so sick of seeing my towers everywhere he must of thought he might as well offer the Product too.
These HB guys probably get peed of seeing towers everywhere just like we do with the boxes!
Its a two way street I can assure you.
I mentioned these boxes to Kris at tubz vending and know for a fact, the guy hardly buys anything.
tubz vending products do not work well in the Boxes.
One thing I can tell you with 100% certainty, tubz vending are not about too flood the market with honesty boxes.
Indeed, Kris had no idea this guy was putting them in HBs and I beileve him!

cheers

hi noel yep normal branded pringle and tubz vending branded container. i appreciate what nigel is saying about waiting it out but if you went into somewhere and you have a choice give £1 to barnardos or put into a machine allot of people would give it to barnardos.

what i am more interested in finding out is, is this something tubz vending have decided to do with barnados, or has someone got hold of some boxes and ordering stock from tubz vending, this mean hardly any overheads, no commission to site, more profits to the operator (who will be able to weather a few pots light fingered). lets not forget that this means no money is going to the charity, which means this would turns out to be a bigger con then the normal honesty boxes.

just trying to get the bottom of this to see if it legit or not.

I agree with everything you said Nigel, but I wouldn't say it's a total two way street. In my opinion these franchisors and charities do not put the same investment in as a machine operator does , either financially or time wise. Also the franchisor KNOWS it is a scam, ie that it won't last . They rely on a constant stream of new franchisees , yet tell none of them that it's a short term loss making venture. And bad and all as a machine round is to value for sale, a HB round has no value at all.

Good points Clare. Also remember the theft doesn't come out of the franchisors pocket , it comes out of the charity pocket. The boxes say 65% of PROFITS go to charity. Hence the theft is seen as a cost and so the charity looses out. And the poor operator has to shoulder the loss as he has already bought and paid the franchisor for the sweets. SCAM SCAM SCAM all the way.

clare, read my post again!
tubz vending have no deal with Barnados, it is simply the franchisee opting to offer the tubz vending Products!
I have spoken to the fella, why would he lie!
there is no tie with tubz vending, I am quite certain of that!

Noel
you are spot on, it really is a scam!
I used to deal with Hurleys for my tower stock and now they are pushing these NSPCC boxes, well I find that hard to swallow!
Havent seen them in my area yet.
Its good job too because any NSPCC box that appears in a site with my tower makes the likelyhood of further business diminish.
