I think the days of commission to landlord are coming to an end! All my new site finding is all done via H4H and if I continue with vending within the next 2-3 years I predict 90% of my business with be H4H
Now days when I empty a machine and give the landlord £12 9 times out of 10 all I hear is 'is that all?'
i THEN CRINGE and explain how I don't make a lot of money myself but it wears you down
Regards
Ross
I wish my floor space earned me £12 per sq foot without me lifting a finger ... or two
can someone post exactly what snack a can prices are. Would be interested as with price rises coming through from mars, nestle etc can they absorb a 10% price rise.
I have actually lost a couple of sites when I paid out £10 - £12 from a vend.
The owners were fed up of getting what they perceived to be a pittance.
To get round this I offer each site payment on a 6 month or 12 month basis.
I pay out in April and October each year.
The money is still the same but the landlord is happier when I hand him a couple of hundred quid.
Snack A Can are not interested in the independant market, they couldn't cope with the volume and the're expensive. Nigel I think you should refraim from shooting yourself in the foot by admitting that Snack A Can is better than you, lol! I don't know anyone in my 200+ sites who would be prepared to forgo comission for a 5% donation to charity. I've had many complaints about Snack A Can cashews, so many complaints about pistachios they withdrew (sorry rested, permanently) the product. I hope this balances the argument a little!
If you look at snack an can verses say help for heros it is a simlar business model. Now we can look at the product and ask is it worth buying there product?? Ok this comes down to cost and availibilty.
What put me of snack a can in the past was the dificulty in getting multipal machines in good sites. What i do with my H4H sites is give most of them the option to take the commission for themselves instead of it going to H4H, obviously there are no H4H lables on these machines. a good site on commission gives me the option to chuck toys and pringle machines in which can quadrupal my turnover for that site.

Hi Jonny,
Yes we sell salty dog, usually rotate them with real & another posh crisp cant rememer which though.Weve actually just had some warbuton (BREAD PEOPLE?) crisps in this week!!
firstly, although yes snack a cans packaging is now superior, it is way too expensive and i mean way. secondly i enquired a while back about ordering there rolos, after i stopped laughing at their prices i also got the limited stock line in the email as i wanted to order round 15 boxes, so you would have a nightmare with stock ordering as is normal with them. Thirdly it makes me laugh when a landlord says is that it when you hand over commission, my response is what do you want for something that sits there takes no space, no electric and doesnt cause any probs. they see the light then. Another good trick is to go monthly and if not many sold top them up and cash up second month.
Brian is spot on about getting site on commission and doubling up, also how interested will your site be when they are not getting money, zero interest.
Nige if your landlord of that pub is so happy about this 5%, and as he says its better than nothing! then why didnt or why doesnt he donate his 20%???? its a damn site more. even if the snack a can tower sells more.
Dont forgot as well with all these charities then none of it is tax deductable.
