Hi all, Thanks for the advice.

The agency has a retired paramedic, who does not want a full time role again. So long as I can go out with them, I dont see a problem.

Pete's offer is great, but firstly, I will need someone who can do 6 straight days after 4/5 weeks and any ad hoc days depending on my recovery. It is a long way for him to travel and he will also have to take time out from his own rounds. If I did not have an alternative, I would be saying yes to Pete, but whilst I am really grateful for his support, I prefer not to call on him, unless things get in a mess.

I have now spoken to Pete and he understands my position and have agreed to give him a buzz, if things dont work out as hoped.

Thanks everyone for your input.

Thanks Ross,

The consultant has confirmed today that I should be fit enough to travel at 4 weeks, but I wont be able to bend, or lift anything, even my cat off the ground for 8 weeks after the op. I want to have it as soon as possible now, so I can be back to work for the summer holidays, but I am on a waiting list, so it may be a few weeks yet. I now have an agency driver to help. He is a retired paramedic, so I will be in good hands.

You are so right about Pete. What a wonderful gesture.

Regards,

Paul

Hi Dave,

I have previously worked for a Jobcentre Plus for 16 years and believe me, I know how the HMRC operate and where the lines are. I will always stay completely legal, as I have seen big ppl fall, when they have not done as thy perhaps should have. When I called I did not mention my name, but as I have nothing to hide, I may as well have done. Not many ops on here nearby me which is a pitty, but that has benefits I suppose.

Thanks fot the advice though and I appreciate your offer.

Regards,

Paul
