Good machines for Chippy's and Cafes

Post by JustCraig »

I have read on here that toy vending machines do quite well in cafes and chip shops - Better than sweet machines in most cases.

Does anyone have any recommendations as to which machines are best suited to these locations - I plan to vend mainly (maybe even solely) bouncy balls to keep it simple to start with while I test the water.

Any suggestions/experiences?

Bouncy balls are good start for chippys, well it worked well for me.
Well except for one site where a little boy was a bit eager to play with his new ball, bounced it around while in the queue and it went into the friar and the boiling oil melted it in an instance.
Chippy owner had to throw all the oil and fish in that pan away.
He was surpisingly good about it and saw the funny side and didnt ask me to pay for the wasted food.
he did ask for the machine to be removed though!

What machines do you recommend for bouncy balls? I imagine a smallish machine would be better as most of the chip shops around here are pretty small.

Would you only put them in ones that have seating? or should this not really matter?

I have several chippys. I find tower machines are not so good they look rubbish and get all greasy and sales are average. We find bulk machine are better with toys outselling sweets 65% to 35% on the 20p machines. we also sell toys at a quid though bouly machines although they take up a bit to much room for most chippys so the 20p vend rules ok with me
