Re: Underhand Tactics
Jimmy,
If you ask your contact whom i do not want to name he will inform you that there were 2 sites in question. 1 as described above and another that our engineer attended that was on the round list that we took over that only had 1 tower in. As all Snack A Can towers look the same and have the same keys it was completely reasonable for him to assume that the tower was ours to refill. As i have said this has all been rectified and actually the operator in question is now better off as we have removed our tower.
Surely if we wanted to be under hand we would have with these sites and all the other Snack A Can sites that we have come across in that area just offered the site a fair 20% commission and told them that only 5% (none of which can be individually checked by the site) of their current towers goes to a charity not of their choice like all Snack A Can towers as most of the Snack A Can sites that we or our operators come across are under the impression that all the money goes to charity!
Not sure what point you are really trying to make with this thread Jimmy but if you have any suggestions how we should have resolved the situation better then please let us know.

Re: Underhand Tactics
Well I think it was good of Jimmy to bring it to attention on the forum, definately the right thing to do. It then gave tubz vending a chance to give an answer which they have and all seems well resolved. Surely the operator in question must be happy if the competition have removed there tower?

From what I have read on here there is no way you could be in barbara's pocket, there's no room with all her money in there

Re: Underhand Tactics
I have heard from a few sources who will remain nameless as they are on this forum and don't want involved in this **** slinging that your engineer did try to poach a few other sites as well.
Regarding the charity contribution that all Snack A Can Franchisees make of which I am one, as you know we are fully audited and WE DO NOT imply that all the monies go to charity – no one would expect that as the stock costs money and I need a salary do you really think I'm doing this out of the goodness of my heart, what a daft thing to say! I think your company are being very creative with their thinking Snack A Can/Jelly Bean Campaign etc have raised in excess of £1m. The sites are not told all monies go to charity, they are told at the outset that a contribution of 5% goes. Why would we hide it? Our main business is providing a free vending service to the site and we chose to give monies to charity. The JBC is fully managed and controlled by the Vending Revolution who keep audited records and anyone who does not pay the due charity commission have their contracts terminated, these are the Franchisees who would probably go to you to buy stock as the Vending Revolution would not supply them. I could mention a certain individual on this very forum who has kept their bulk and Tower vendors on site for many months and is actually committing fraud.. At least being with the Vending Revolution I know that we ALL comply unlike other charity schemes which will remain nameless without management there is far too much room for vending operators to ‘forget’ to send off their monies. If the site wanted to check that monies are going, they only have to speak to Barbara who will show them proof of the quarterly commission returns that ALL franchisees have to sign, return and enclose their cheques made payable directly to the charity and the sites can speak to our charities as well. By the way, didn’t your company try to copy Snack A Can by creating tubz vending Campaign ... how much money did you raise???
I have 100 sites of which 20 are on site commission the remainder are charity commission for CHAS. I pay my charity dues on time and I return with that cheque which is made payable to CHAS not Vending Revolution or the Jelly Campain or Barbara's piggy bank, with the Charity return form which notes how much I have taken from the machines . I then check on my bank statements that the cheques are cashed by CHAS and not by Vending Revolution. I have also spoken to the Lady at CHAS when I did my due diligence who assured me that everything was all ok and above board and she said to me -- "We are very grateful to ANY Donations to CHAS" The Word ANY is important, I have stock to buy, a car to run, electricity to pay, food to buy, 2 kids to feed etc just like you lot..
Regarding Barbara and Pete and me being in their pocket --- CRAP
Barbara and I did have a real ding dong last year and I was very short and to the point over an issue which really made me angry and it's something they stuffed up, but believe it or not they are human and mistakes will happen it's life, BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT DAMMITT!!! IT'S YOUR BUSINESS TAKE OWNERSHIP OF IT!!!! I called spoke to her she acknowledged the problem was theirs and shortly everything was settled amicably, how many of you can say that you have done that with any competitor? for me I am very happy with Vending Revolution/JBC/Snack A Can whatever you want to call it - better products, better service, I have very little grief etc. but when someone has a pop at them you're having a pop at me and I get very annoyed cos if I ever want to sell this business in future it's value with be diminished because of the crap on here, if you have a problem with Snack A Can tubz vending phone them and sort it out, like what I did, why would you come on here and moan about it when your business it going down the toilet.

Cor blimey, Deja vu
Why do you say people cant complain? thats the whole point of the forum. Similar to your original post concerning tubz vending which we were grateful to have posted irrespective of its source.

Re: Underhand Tactics
I'm not saying people can't complain, I am saying theres a better way of dealing with it.
If someone has a problem with Snack A Can or tubz vending, do they phone Barbara or tubz vending and sort it out?
No, they come on here and bleate about it and give the impression that these are not viable businesses.
Would it not better to speak to the horses mouth and sort whats wrong, maybe even make a few suggestions as I have done in the past, OK she may give me reasons as to why not do it that way, but at least I got it off my chest in the right place, not on here where nothing will get done.
Yes I do have a very good relationship with Barbara and Pete and yes I do feel I can trust them, but thats my bag, my business and I shouldn't be slated on here for saying so. In the same respect I should be able to say what I feel about tubz vending and not get slated for that in the same way that Snack A Can gets slated.

Re: Underhand Tactics
Jimmy,
You can say what you want about any supplier you always have been able to. Regarding talking to your suppliers to get things sorted, sometimes airing problems publicly is the best way to get things sorted albeit maybe a last resort.
