Damaged delivery again
I have just received my third delivery from Hurleys and I am not impressed. My first delivery of 12 boxes was packed in two bound piles and nearly impossible for the courier (and me) to lift.... Guess what roughly 10 odd smashed pots. Hurleys told me that this has never happened before and there was not a great deal that they could do about it as it wasn't worth the hassle to them for £4.00 (their cost) in sweets which I understood and wrote it off to a poor delivery driver.
The second delivery of 4 or 6 boxes (cant remember which) had again several damaged pots, I again complained to Hurleys to be told AGAIN this has not happened to anyone else??????????? They agreed to credit me half a box on my next delivery to be fair.
Just received a delivery today of 10 boxes and what a surprise 14 more smashed pots from 3 different boxes. Tell me I am not the only one that has this bad luck. In the grand scale of things its not the end of the world but I have just spent 1 1/2 hours going through every pot (oh yes all 960) to see whats damaged. It is impossible to do this when the courier arrives (I am not there anyway as I have them delivered elsewhere as I am at work)
Rant over, there has to be a better way to pack stock so that it arrives in A1 condition, I will be ringing Hurleys tomorrow and no doubt will sort this out but real feel paranoid that I am the only one this happens to???? Or are Hurleys not telling the truth???
Please help
Thanks
Steve

Re: Damaged delivery again
Order half a pallet at a time and it will come shrink wrapped. Per pot it shpoldn't cost any more.

Re: Damaged delivery again
To be fair the onus is on you to check the boxes, I know its a pain but if there signed ok theres not a lot of comeback against the couriers. You can also sign the documents goods unchecked which I believe can help.
I Have yet to come by a delivery firm that are any good still, they either dont arrive on time, dont arrive at all and pretend they have, arrive damaged or with missing pieces.
As you say I suppose some feedack from other operators would help regarding their deliverys.

Re: Damaged delivery again
Steve, Whenever you use a courier ( not palletised) you run the risk of this. Its more cost effective to order a half pallet. As Noel states, its shrink wrapped and you can easily see if its been tampered with. When it arrives, take a photo, before opening up the wrapping.
I have never had an issue with a palletised order.
Thanks,
Paul

Picture of my last pallets from CHina (ps they are supposed to be up right & straight) unfortunately the cling film didnt stop the fork lift this time even though they were in a metal frame

Damaged delivery again
A couple of months ago I bought my first brand new machines and stands plus 19 boxes of stock from hurleys. 1 box of stock arrived opened with 10 tubs of sweets opened. A few machines scratched and 15 stands all scratched. They said they are putting a claim in against the courier. I'm still waiting for any feedback from hurleys!! Zero customer service so far.

Re: Damaged delivery again
Hi,
Were the boxes visibly damaged. Have you contacted them recently to find how the claim against the courier is progressing. They should have a claim number etc.
Thanks,
Paul
