Boxing machines

Post by Vend And Glow »

Anybody run any of these?

When i was running some of my machines in Luminar Leisure i was told by the commercial manager and a number of club managers that the boxers generated up to £600 a week in some clubs!

Even with that kind of money though they decided to pull them out because the image wasn't right!

Another manager from an independent club told me that some operators were giving them 80% commission!!!!

Are these kind of figures realistic?

My mate runs a pub who has one of these and he said to me the machine takes £1200 a month. He is on 50% commission, it is a bit of a rough pub and he did say it brakes down often. But even with those figures you would get your outlay back pretty quickly, the trouble is getting the space for it as they are a monster of a machine.

Hi,

We operate some of these machines, figures vary from £100 to £1200 per month, like all machines, it's the site that makes the money. Boxers are great earners, but stable sites are very difficult to come by, and the machines are big and heavy, moving them is a 2 man or 1 very strong person thing, and you need a decent sized van.

However breakdowns are not a problem at all, it always depends on what you buy. There are plenty cheap machines out there, you find them on Ebay for £400-£600, there must be a reason!!

We only operate 1 make Kalkomat, and the reliability, customer support and spares are excellent. I know the owner very well, in fact going out to dinner with Robert this week at the show.

There are second hands available, email me after the show if you're interested.

We have a Kalkomat which we use for promotional nights, we don't have it out permanently. However it does get alot of abuse when in operation. I did a lot of homework on these machines before I bought one, and Christian is right, Kalkomat is the only one to go for. In two years, all that has gone wrong with it is the punch bag needs a wee pump up, if it has been left lying too long. Takes all of thirty seconds with the pump that came with the machine.

Agree. I think it's Matt from BoxerFun whom operates the distributorship for the UK.

So what are the best type of venues then? What if somebody kicks the machine and hurts themselves, would the owner be liable for any injuries? Daft question i know but somebody did tell me people will try and sue for injuries caused by there own stupidity.

Would a gay bar get much custom? I have a few gay bars on my books and they are always looking for new revenue streams.(and so am i!)

Also would the machne fit in a short wheel base Vivaro?

The machine stands at approx 7 foot . I always use the Iveco but I think yes it will fit into a SWB Vivaro . It certainly fits into a LWB one, we use.
