How to completely strip a tower?

Post by Vendition Ltd »

I have been vending years now but have never given myself time to know the machines inside out

I need to replace a metal barrel on a load of machines, I have taken the big nut which disconnects the centre pole off but can't work out how I strip the machine further and how to replace the barrel

Any help guys?

Cheers

where the segment sit on base of mc there are 4 nuts that you need to take out then you can pull the mc apart to get the barrel out then just insert the new barrel and put back together making sure the holes are lined up to put the nuts back in.

Cheers Rich,

I managed to get one off but the others are pretty rusted and impossible to turn!

I am using the biggest flat head screwdriver I have but the indentation stops short in the middle because the thread isn't very big - whats the best tool to use?

Cheers

Hi Ross,

Use a small flat screwdriver in the slot at the outer edge and apply preassure and this should free a sticking nut. When replacing the barrel, ensure it is from the same type, ie chinese, or clenporte. Drill the centre of the rivets out only then you wont make the rivet holes bigger. Put both rivets in the holes then use the gun to finish the job. When you put it all back together dont forget the tube in the middle. Also, apply a little grease to the back edge of the barel for a good vend.

Cheers,

right WD 40 the hell out of it the put flat head screwdriver on one side and tap round with a hammer, steady taps and it will turn. you dont need to remove any pop rivets if your just replacing barrel once you have base apart and chute removed it will slide off.

Yep, WD40. Leave for 12 hours. then do it again and try it. If you are able to, cut a slot in the centre of a large flat screwdriver,( you will need a small angle grinder with a metal cutting blade, a vice to hold the screwdriver and eye protection) enabling entry to the slots at both sides. Then if necessary, get some mole grips on the driver and turn.
