My van was robbed last Friday in Makro carpark. They took my cash, my expensive waterproof jacket and some stock. The cameras at the store show the activity, but are not clear. I am hoping that the police can see the car reg as it leaves, if they came by car. I am now having a safe fitted, which will be bolted to the chasis.

Hi Paul. Sorry to hear that mate. They tried my van at Bookers last year, got nothing, but cost me time and £. Bookers didn't really care. Which Makro was it??? Re: Robbed
Sorry to hear that Paul, how much money did they get away with? there is a lot of scum out there and this recession is bringing the worst out of some people.
I have a 1 year old Labrador who comes vending with me - I think it's a great ditterant as they will think twice when they see a dog in the van
Anyone recommend the best place to buy safes from?

Re: Robbed
Hi Ross,
Only around £100 thankfully, but they also took a brand new ralf lauren waterproof jacket that was bought for me and was expensive plus some stock.
I am not sure how to account for it. Is it the same as a machine loss etc.
I have bought the safe from E-bay and my garage will attach it through the chasis, so it cant be dragged out.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Robbed
Have you secured it right through the chasis Ade? I prefer the key operated with two cross bars, as you can get in and close it faster than with a code.

Re: Robbed
I hope that others do this as crime is on the increase. For a few quid, you are better protected. Also, when I go to a carpark now, I am looking out for the cameras and parking in their line of sight if poss.
