Hi all, I'd like some advice if possible?
I am thinking of starting up my own vending machine round, on a small scale to begin with, selling sweets possibly, but am not sure what the best way to go would be. I'm trying to do a lot of research before I begin.
How would I go about finding sites? I have heard some companies can find sites for you, but am not sure where to begin. On average how many items per machine can be sold per week, say a £1 machine?
Thanks for any help offered
Steven

Re: Vending machine round start up
hi there, both of the sweet suppliers tubz vending and hurleys offer site finding services. if you work on averages of £ 8 per week per sweet tower you wont go far wrong.

Re: Vending machine round start up
Hi Steve!
We get quite a lot of people on here asking for advice (perhaps there should be some kind of advice/FAQ page on here for new starters?)
If you buy machines from either of the two main suppliers (Hurley's or tubz vending) they can arrange site finding for your machines for about £15 - £20. The main question to ask would be what do you want to get out of this business venture? And how much time/money are you looking to invest?
As a general rule of thumb iv'e found a tower could sell anything between 5 and 50 tubs per month, although I find the average sales are about £30. This would give you a profit after the cost of the tubs, petrol, commission, of about £15 per machine/per month. So if your expecting to buy 20 machines and give up your job, don't!!
You need to be realistic about what you are prepared to put in to it, both in terms of time and money.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Re: Vending machine round start up
Thanks for your replies, much appreciated. I've always been fascinated about vending machines since I was a kid, and didn't think of starting a round up myself until recently.
How much roughly is a sensible/realistic price to pay for a machine? I'd like to start up as a part-time business just to earn a little bit of extra cash and take it from there.

Get on ebay and buy some second hand towers. £60-£80 each. Best site finding is any you do yourself. If you know your local landlords or social clubs start there. Do the easy pickings yourself then use site finders.
Re: Vending machine round start up
thanks, I have been looking. What are the best sitefinders?
At such small average takings though, 8 sales per week average, what do the landlords get from it with their tiny cut? Am i missing something??

Ok, I see now, thanks for your replies.
What type of machine are best to offer to sites, I've been looking on ebay and all sorts, some older style though. Is the can/tub type machine the one to go for?

Re: Vending machine round start up
the writing is on the wall for tower vending... i'm sure lots of people will disagree with me
i really would not go into it at this point, personally i feel that i was a year or two late getting started as in my area all the best sites are taken.
there's a lot of people constantly getting involved in tower machines and almost all of them seem to be failing to build a viable round. at best you can make a part-time income
everyone always encourages new people to get involved because that creates a market for 2nd hand machines.
but good luck to you, get some machines off eBay and hope that your area isn't saturated

It's not worth doing then ? I was hoping to be able through hard work, effort, determination to make around £100 a week on average not mega bucks
