Re: New site
Never tried it and I dont think I would want to. Biggest downside is you would have to visit every 2/3 days minimum so unless you are a company with staff that do the work for you no more holidays.

Re: New site
A very valid point but it could be a good site if the profit is worth while .....

Re: New site
I would stay away personally, even if there was a bit of margin you have to weigh up getting stock every few days which means time and fuel. That and dealing with waste and not to mention customer complaints with taste or stale bread means a no go zone. You have to ask yourself how many sandwich vending machines do you see around, not many!!

Re: New site
TBh I would love to get some big machines and do other types of vending.
I started out in vending with 6 sweet towers and a pringle, so you can imagine the amount of stock I used to have going out of date at the start stocking 9 lines of sweets for 5 machines!
With a very highly perishable stock like sandwiches you will get a lot of wastage if your proposed site only has a dozen employees, but if it's a site with plenty of staff you might make a killing. I would look at the number of staff, closeness to shops/cafe's, and any information on staff habits. Some of the factories I have worked in over the years have sent people out at lunch time with orders for the local sandwich shop, or had stuff delivered, only for it too all stop when the number of people ordering has started to decline.
When I worked at Nestle they had about 8 or 9 machines on site and used to sell about 200 sandwiches a day (over 24 hrs), but they were subsidised to £1.40, by Nestle providing the company with free kitchen space.
If it's something like a small office or transport depot, perhaps supply them with a small glass fronted display fridge with a honesty box system? Save shelling out for a machine if they don't sell.
Good Luck!!

Re: New site
Hi mark it's a bus depot which is having its canteen shut down so I've been approached by the management to see if it's possible to have a sandwich machine, that's over 100 drivers a day plus clerical staff I have snack and hot drink machines waiting to go in and I think you are correct in what you have all been saying and I will give this idea the heave ho!Mark@YorVend wrote:TBh I would love to get some big machines and do other types of vending.
