beware of mr mcmillan

Post by Ade »

so `sweets for smiles` operating as mcmillan charity think its ok to site machines next to other vendors sites!!!
the guys names chris. he put his machine in one of my top sites where i have 2 machines, i spoke to site when i turned up one day and noticed machine there, they thought it was mine.
i was contacted by my supplier who is mr mcmillans supplier and we agreed this isnt the way we operate, chris was asked to contact me, he didnt, so i prompted it, eventually he did phone at an inconvenient time and left a voicemail, i contact him back, guess what, voicemail, eventually i get hold of him and he is driving so promises to phone me back in an hour, he doesnt, i phone him, voicemail!
so i left a message asking him to remove machine, as this is not how we operate, all this has been going on over a 2 month period. his machine is still standing right next to mine and now this site has gone from being a top site due to watered down sales by an operator with no morals.
so gloves are off for mcmillan your sites are fair game

These cowboys have to be sorted!

Ade, tell the site that your machine is covered with liability insurance (should be) whereas, the machine in question is not and therefore, would have to be added to the owners insurance.

If that fails, tell Mr Doughnut that if machine is still in place at end of week, it is being reported to HMRC as he is masquerading his machine off as one of yours. Or remove both machines and tell owner they are being removed for servicing. He will contact you then.

Or

Saturate his sites with your machines.

yeah i have full public liability, ive no doubt he has to, i told him we have a code of honour when i left last voicemail and he should be abiding by it. i am going to be targeting his sites, not something i want to do as its not my style but when push comes to shove

I am having the same issue at the minute. Went to one of my sites to find my machine in a cupboard and a new one in its place. My machine is for starlight the new one isn't. I've sent a very polite text to the owner of new machine stating that I have had that site for many years and it is an unwritten rule to not site machines in other people's sites. He basically responded with 'that's vending'. I'm going to look on the member list in here to see if he is a member

The trouble is that some people could not be bothered to find their own sites. If they see a site they try and muscle in, the other problem is the charity sites. Most of mine are now commission sites, that way the owner will usually look after your interests.

If you know the guy, offer commission on your towers at his other sites, he will soon get the message. Worthwhile being out of pocket if you can sort out his lack of scruples.

I either get them removed or sometimes take them over when they eventually give up.
