Re: The quality of new towers!
Looks like this one is down to a kid being ham-fisted, took me 1.5 hours to rectify.
In the main the problems I have encountered have been lids popping off, have resolved that problem, totally refuse to insert any tub that is not secure! All old stock is more or less scrap.
Many have had the latch problem, not much I can do about that except to make sure I have a supply of coin mechanisms etc. they are pricey at about £24 each.
Like I suggest all new machines will be Clenports.
Cheers, happy munching!

Re: The quality of new towers!
we all get calls with problems...as your round gets bigger you will get more calls and more jams, regardless of whether the machine is clenport/chinese. If you are worried about jammed coin mechs then in some cases the clenports are worse, e.g. because the parts are made more accurately the coin mechs can be jammed by fakes etc. I'd rather lose a couple of pots of sweets than have an expensive machine jammed up for a week because of a dodgy coin...

Re: The quality of new towers!
Er get real
I lost almost 40 tubs when a Chinese machine decided to give freebies!
It was at a kids site, thing with kids is that the word gets around bl**dy quick!
Clenports, I have about 50 Clenports and never had a problem from new.
Chinese machines are as I have reported earlier, nothing but trouble.
So if you like I will swap my Chinese machines for your Clenports.

how much do 40 tubs cost you? vs. how much does a week of lost profit cost you? + fuel + call out time
it's a no brainer...lose the 40 tubs. anyway, each to their own.

Re: The quality of new towers!
40 tubs lost = £16 at cost
Call out fuel and time = £5
Total loss = £21
One week lost sales £10 - £4 (tubs at cost) - £2 commission = £4
Call out fuel and time = £5
Total loss = £9
Difference is £12 between 2 different scenarios. Decent working Clenports win hands down.

Re: The quality of new towers!
I agree with Dorsetvend!
The cost factor is not in the equation as far as I am concerned Clenports are better than the Chinese machines, my callouts todate would back this up - I am more for making sure the machine is working all the time, nothing annoys a client more than a machine not working.
And if you do not fix ASAP they are more than likely to ask you to remove it!
Quality and reliability is KING in this business.
happy munching.

Re: The quality of new towers!
Sorry for my "newbie" question here. How would I know if my towers were Clenports?

Clenports have a smooth silver base where as the chinese ones have a ribbed version

Not sure what you mean as the base is black, the silver base inside the column has three rings.Snackmore wrote:Clenports have a smooth silver base where as the chinese ones have a ribbed version
