the issue is the packing time/costs. Already it is a thin margin product. If you had to minibag it and then pot it the time involved would add even more. Its a shame really as cashews and pistachios are the only two nut products worth bothering really.

i will stick to my sandrel a bit of a loss leader though. Sandrel honey nuts sell ok but not the salysol ones. a wee bit cheaper also.
I would not bother packing nuts in plastic containers. stick to what your good at.

On the subject of shelf lifes Kris, it was posted on here by yourself I think that shelf life for tubz vending products was now practically 18 months on everyhting. But on my pallet last week there were loads of products that had a best before date of 11/2011 and 12/2011.

Kris, I think 5-6 months is a more realistic shelf life for any savouries in clear containers, as long as the vendor knows that they will use the product in the right kind of site. Were only doing this as we have been asked to by some vendors.
We have made our own pot in the UK now, it doesnt have a hole, the lid is as tight as it need to be so the shelf life is as good as it can be.
