yeah a lot going round, way round it is to file sides of mech down where pound enters, file it to size of dodgy coin then it will never jam again on false pound coins

Hi there. The best way to take the central pole off the machine is to have one set of adjustable spannes to hold the pole in place with one hand and use another set pushing in the opposite direction on the nut at the bottome of the pole. It will then snap out of place. For the adjustable on the pole, make sure you use a set of flat headed spanners, not curved as they will slip. This is all straight from Miguel at Clenport who showed me how to do it properly. But, as Paul said, for a coin mech jam this isnt neccesary but its still good to know how to do it if you need to replace a chute or base.
