Re: Hi
Welcome aboard.
Ive had some really good advice from here, really nice people . I too looked at Snack a Can and have decided to go with Hurley's in the end. Ive not ordered anything yet but i think ill be doing it next week. Im going with 10/20 initially and then see how it goes. I am currently self employed in the IT world but with so much of what I do (engineering) going off shore to India and the like im looking for something you cant outsource.
Be good to catch with you in a few months time and exchange our experiences.
Cheers
Paul

Re: Hi
Welcome aboard Marcus, good luck with the transition from I.T to vending.
I'm an ex Operator, Programmer and up until 7 years ago a Project Support Coordinator.
I got sick of the corporate bulls..t and watching the government department I worked for waste more money in a week than I have subsequently made in the last 7 years.
As a contract Operator I once worked for 6 months at Pirelli Tyres in Southampton (Many moons ago!)
I started vending with 12 machines and now run 140 based on about 85 sites.
I earn a decent but not fantastic income.
One thing to watch out for, people who have known you for a long time will raise there eyebrows and question your wisdom when they hear that you are moving from I.T to vending.
Most people tend to equate I.T with well paid satisfying jobs and see vending as a bit of a fringe business. Some of my closest friends still think I only earn a pittance!
A few quick points: -
Build your business yourself (no franchise)
Get a good site finder.
Any personal contact can help you find a site, just chat about the business!
Check out the best offers with suppliers, (we have some good competition now!)
Check this Forum at least twice a week for good info.
Label your machines with a contact number and keep the machines clean.
Keep one spare machine available for emergencies.
Ask your customer if they want their commission each time you vend or six monthly or annually. I pay about 15 customers that way, in April & October.
Anyway hope it all goes well.
