chairty percentages
Hi,
I started siting my first batch of machines over the weekend and was asked today why the percentage paid to H4H was so low. Hurleys @10%
Without going through costs of tubs, machines, fuel, business insurance etc we just told the customer thats how it was and although not happy they took the machine on anyway.
Just wondering how others deal with this, im kind of thinking 10% is more than 0%
Cheers

Re: chairty percentages
tell them thats its 25 % of the profits which is about right after deducting cost of stock, fuel time etc. explain that all these things cost money and the stock isnt free of charge you have to buy it.

Re: chairty percentages
I give 20% comm instead of 10% as I thought it was to low and sites would not be happy.
I dont mind paying this as this is what I normally pay sites anyway.
I have had some very good sites from both Hurleys/tubz vending which I dont want to lose.
tubz vending do a very good H4H leaflet explaining everything which I got changed to 20%.

Re: chairty percentages
Cheers Fellas,
Thanks for the response.
I agree with both options increase the % price of each vend or explain the comission payment is based in the percentage of profit after costs.
Probably easier for a site to work out how much they are getting if they work on a % per pot, ie 10 pots sold £2 comission due. That saves the whole well we sold 10 pots and you only donated x arguement.
I still have a lot to learn
Thanks again
Paul

Re: chairty percentages
hi guys, ive been asked by a couple of my sites if they can have a letter stating how much has been donated to help for heroes, im worried that if i show them a letter of how much as been donated they will think its only a small amount and start asking questions, how do you guys get around this?

Re: chairty percentages
I dont do charity and this is the very reason why. Although it may be a good way of getting a site in the first place I think that unless you are up front with them as to how much goes to the charity it will come back biting you on the bum particularly if you give less than you would to a normal site.
I think if you give 20% gross like other sites you have nothing to hide, and can prove that the charity receive the money of course.
Just my opinion

Re: chairty percentages
Explain to the site as well that the unit price is only £1 so yes 10% is not a lot of money, but if people bought more then obviously the donation to H4H is greater. Put some of the onus back on them. Play the poor mouth that you would like to give more but sales are slow at this time of year.

Youre right, you need to have some sort of letter to get round this, I agree.
I give some proceeds to a local childrens charity from around a dozen local slow sites but I would NEVER break it down for the site to see its own contibution as it is so small.
You either need a letter from H4H staing your last TOTAL contribution or maybe a copy of your bank statement to show any payments you have made to H4H.
It is perfectly reasonable for a site to ask for this info IMO!.
good luck

Re: chairty percentages
or state 20% of profits which is fair,I dont know why you are worried as to me £50 out of a tower £5 to charity every time seems fair, point out you operate 100 machines and as Nigel says give them a weekly or 1/4 figure. You could always ask them if they donate 10% of their wages to charity every week!! (DONT THINK IT WOULD GO DOWN TO WELL THOUGH!!!)
Dont forget barnados and many other national charities have directors earning well over 100k per annum. Even when you donate your commisions to charity only a set percentage of that money actually reaches the chairty after admin costs have een deducted, similar to the usiness you are running, you have running costs. i would love to know what percentage of money donated to major charities actually does go to said charity.

Re: chairty percentages
I have My BMYcharity page set up as an icon on my iphone so if anyone asks they can see straight away how much I have paid over in total to H4H.
Saves any issues this way.
I also carry a copy of H4H email in my van showing I have been accepted By The H4H charity.
