nige..
sorry mate, but i couldnt be bothered to read that rant just the first couple of lines although i did get the jist of what you were saying..
for your own benefit mate..pull your machine out asap..tell the landlord to poke his business up his hair fat a rse,lol... it will make you feel so much better msh..you dont need laqndlords like him..anyone who says they dont want your money each refill is either a liar or as mad as a box of frogs...maybe both..
as you know it is hard enough out there at the mo let alone someone telling you that they dont need your money
also dont forget to tell him that when the Snack A Can tower jams up not to call you ever again to put your machine back...sometime you need to do what you head tells you..
stop taking things to heart my darling and put your energies into good productive things..
Stay Happy and smile

A new Snack A Can franchisee is very active in one of the areas that I operate.
Hes peppering some of my existing sites that have tubz vending stock with his Snack A Can machines.
I take a fairly balanced and pragmatic viewpoint that if that is what the landlord wants, who am I too argue?
I pointed out that the recently installed Snack A Can tower was watering sales down from my machine and whilst it is very noble of him to give too charity via said Snack A Can tower, it was infact only 5p per sale benefitting the good cause.
Too my surprise, he said he was fully aware that it was only 5% but said that was better than nothing and the Snack A Can stock was far superior to the "cheap looking stock" in my machine.
He also said he wasnt bothered that he recieved 20p a sale from my machine and could take it out if I wanted as he did not feel the tubz vending brands project the quality sweets image as well as the Snack A Can branded containers.
Seeing the towers side by side, I must admit it is a far point as it seems that Snack A Can have upped there game somewhat with there packaging looking sharp and brighter than I remember with a lot of brand names now.
All this branded stuuf in the Snack A Can tower must be costing the franchisee a pretty penny but I guess with only 5% commission to pay he makes the same Net Profit that I do with the competative prices I finally managed to get from tubz vending.
so there you have it!
according to the landlord the new Snack A Can containers are not jamming like they used to when I bought them!
Is it time to consider a switch back to Snack A Can stock after 5 years of using tubz vending / Hurleys?
I have always thought that the composite, DONE CORRECTLY, had the edge on the clear containers for looking more professional.
What do you all think??

Dave, had you read it right thru you would have seen it not a rant and your reply is just the sort of OTT reactionary post you have become famous for.Happyvending wrote:nige..

You posts are very entertaining but half the time they are wrong!
I have come across situations like this many times before, dont forget I had towers out when dinosaurs walked the earth!
I was looking for some constructive feedback, not some hardly bothered to read it before jumping in with my kebab in one hand, beer in the other half arsed type of response from you.
The Snack A Can newbie is throwing money into it, he probably believes all the hype from Babs.
Have you heard the phrase "brightest stars always burn out the quickest" well this somes up this Snack A Can totally. Six months and he will be history.
As for the bolshy landlord, I have also dealt with these flash swanky types before!
Brand new tractor in the carpark, new extension on the Barn all built up on debt, but thinks hes SO BIG by saying I dont need your pitiful commission from the tubz vending Tower, yeah right!
while forgoing comm on the tower is hardly going to make the difference whether he make a go of the pub, or not, his flippant attitude also carries over to much bigger dealings in his business and if he dosent think every penny counts then he is either stupid or in denial!
I reckon I give him about as long as the Snack A Can guy, around 6 months and he will be gone too.
So thats why your "advice" to take out my tubz vending tower and tell him to "stick it" is the wrong one Dave LOL.
that pubs been around 100 years or so, these two clowns probably last 100 days leaving me to do business with the next tenant.
I believe you dont do the towers anymore so maybe you should stick to what you do best mate.
Pills and Pilsner!

Nigel,
Many of my landlords have big cars and own multiple pubs, they don't need my tower business to make a difference. But they still keep me there as a service to their customers, they know they will not get ripped off and accept the few quid they are paid. It's not about tubz vending, Sweetfix, Hurley's or Snack A Can, it's all down to the relationship that you have with the landlord that matters, get on well you're there for ever.
