Crane grabbers
A family pub site has asked if I can supply a crane grabber on a comission basis. I have no experience with these so would welcome any help. I would not want to buy new, as I asume they are pricey and at this stage, its just a chance that it will do ok in this site. Can someone advise me on the good and bad points. Are they reliable; what comission is normally paid and the best places for stock etc.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Crane grabbers
All down to site mate. But 30-40p toy mixed £1 prize every time vend, larger capacity & no sell by dates + 20 seconds and you've refilled. Best bet is to give Ian a ring 01507 490003

Re: Crane grabbers
Ian at Instance - Cranedoctor - is your best bet. His Prize Zones are the most reliable of all the prize cranes available and his after sales service is the best. We operate quite a few of these and we plan at £300 PCM turnover per machine on a £2 vend. If you are on a commission basis with the site you don't want to go much over 30% of net sales. Ian has great product. You should buy at around 50p per item. The key is the product, put **** product in and your sales will suffer.
Good luck
David

Re: Crane grabbers
also factor in that quite often say 1 in 8 or 10 the crane could catch 2 toys at once affecting margins. My decent play centre regularly does 120 a week but thats an A1 site where as the sweetfix tower does about 40 a week so if its pro rata about 3x the sales id say.

Re: Crane grabbers
Paul,
The site needs to be good earner as the crane purchase price will be high. Pub sites will struggle to acheive the earnings necessary to pay for the investment. I would test the site with toy vendors first.

Re: Crane grabbers
Hi Pete,
Good advice as always. I have a meeting already arranged and hope to convince her to try a toy machine. I dont really want to go near the grabber because of my back, but if I think I may lose the site, I may have to consider a s/h one and get someone to install it.
Cheers,
Paul
