Purley to satisfy my curiosity and because we get little feedback about Snack a can on here, what were they like to work with? I came close to signing up with them many years ago so am curious.
Pringles wise I would tend to agree they can be tricky to site and are getting to the point where the profits not in them, so you may be better going down the Toys route?

Cheers JOn
Jon

Snack a Can were ok to me, but I know a lot of people don't like them, but they never done me any harm,
I may be kicking against the grain here but I thought the Business Plan was ok, but what business plan doesn't have problems?
I have dealt with worst people, companies, etc but personally I found Barbara and Pete fine to deal with, and given the chance I would again.
am now getting my stock from Hurleys and again no problems..

I asked some of the best sites and no one wants a machine!!!

you have to sell it to them, ask how much they make on a bag of crisps, then tell them you can pay them 20p, maybe 25p if you get discount, tell them it takes the queues away from the bar leaving it free for those that want beer etc#

Ade

Ade,

Most landlords make about 40p/50p per pack of crisps sold so its difficult to get machines in because they will only make half what they would on their own sales

The problem all else aside is what the business model has morphed into;

Product Cost + Expected Commission (High) + Machine Cost + Operating Cost

£1 vend, £0.40 product, 20% commission on £1 leaving £0.40 to apportion to Machine and Op Cost.

Solution, increase selling price... limitation... machine and willingness of customer to pay more.

New solution, site sells own products and removes most of the problems of the vending operator in one move.

Snack-A-Can made a £1.20 coin mech and a nearfield card reader, I guess they never introduced them but in all honesty I don't think it would have worked regardless and the only honest solution I considered was to increase the portion to more than double but that meant new machines. It's catch 22 no matter what you do in this market at the moment. If I knew the answer I'd be doing it myself...

Ask her majesty to Create a £1.20 coin.

another way is converting electronic cigarette machines, if this could be done whilst making the front see through so you can see the actual products.

Please everybody don't listen to David, he is the most negative person I have ever come across. David you don't even operate towers so why do you talk about it like you are an expert?

The tower industry is very stable and will be for another 4 years or so

well said Ross,

I've been selling salysol double sized snack cans through specially adapted pringles machines @ £2 for about a year now.
