Has anyone else heard from Joe re refunds? I paid him for 10 sites (5 bogof), siting to take place in 1st week of June, and then heard nothing. I'm informally pursuing him for a refund but will be reporting it to the police via the Action Fraud website if he doesn't commence repayment by 1st July.

seriously?? police are too busy to deal with fraud, especially low level and low value fraud...you will just annoy them by raising the reported crime stats. be very surprised if they take any action at all and then you'll be pursuing them as well...in my experience they'll only get involved to prevent breach of peace if you go round for collection. write it off and spend the time cold calling instead

Yeah,

So we all just pay whatever for whatever and when we do not receive the goods or services we just roll over and just forget it!

I have been to busy of late to pursue the 20+ sites I paid for - before you pass on your complimentary remarks, I used Joe on the strength of this site partly recommending him back in May. Sure, it is my risk and no one else's however since the site organiser was prepared to use him I assumed they had a good relationship with Joe. I guess lesson learnt!

If I get to find out his full name (working on that), and who he now works for, I guess I shall right to his employers forewarning my experience of Joe and, will sometime soon (he is being given plenty of time and opportunity) be asking a person who creates websites to extend and show the plaudits and exemplary attitude of Joe. I believe whole-heartedly in reporting individuals achievements.

After all, as previously suggested he has had plenty of time to come clean or explain.

Before anyone enquires the website will activate whenever the search is based on his name or home town - a lot of work? Not for me! Why? Is it the money? Not at all, very quickly recovered the amount from the towers I have. It is the thought and point of how easily he has ripped so many people off!

It is very obvious that he has been involved in these activities before, who has had as many companies as him? Nah, the world needs to know about this excuse of a person.

We are all trying to make a living and do not need to be so openly ripped off!

Part-timer the next time you get ripped off for whatever reason, do come back and let us know, you will get a very sympathetic ear!

You are not going to believe this!

As I was typing the last post, in the background on TV the pointless program was running - a person called Sally said she was an expert on Penquins and can name every breed!

BET she cannot name Joe the Penquin.

Low value to whom?! I CAN'T BELIEVE what you just advised us to do!

I don't mind chasing the police to do their job. It'll be less thankless than calling, emailing, texting some idiot who thinks its acceptable to take money off people for work never done, spend it on themselves and just ignore my efforts to elicit a refund, apology or explanation for what has happened. ("it's currently being sorted" - the last communication received - is NOT sufficient!)

I can think of a few media streams who would be interested to hear if the police do nothing with the information I give them, in fact I'm sure a few media streams would be interested to hear the official police response to your advice…

If Joe doesn't satisfy my requests by 1 July then I'm reporting him to Action Fraud and taking him to the small claims court. Penultimate response from him told me "the company went bank rupture [sic]" and is "going into liquidation". I feel sorry for the guy if he really thinks that's his easiest option. At this rate his credit rating is going to be shot for years and he's going to end up with a CCJ.

Obviously by looking after you he has got a good endorsement.

Everyone else is paying the price.

Listening to everyone else's complaints on the forum and we have many, would suggest that he has targeted the correct people to entice business from other quarters.

What he has done is totally wrong and you should be supporting that especially since everyone uses this forum collectively as a point of contact and for sound advice.

Well said Alex,

Incidentally, when did he say that he had filed for bankruptcy because if he had managed to further squirrel monies out of forum readers after this date he had committed a further crime by taking money with intent, knowing full well that bankruptcy had been applied for.
