What sites are best?
Heres a new topic guys. I would be very interested in others opinions. It seems we are all chasing the holy grail of tower/toy sites. swimming pools, play barns, pubs etc but I think we are a little naive.
I have recently bought a load of old Snack a Can sites. Ive done this before so in total probably 160 ish of my sites were once operated by Snack A Can or their franchisees. Now these sites have don't have a great reputation but is that right.
Your machine is probably safer than it would be in a pub.
Charity commission is a lot less. I work my income on an hourly rate, so if I visit every 2/3 months instead of every 3/4 weeks, then for that 25 minutes I'm working I am earning the same.
You can generally access anytime of the day.
Its much easier to manage your time and business, ie - if you want a week off you can move the collection date by a week without upsetting the site or losing income.
You are less likely to get kicked out.
You are less likely to have another tower dumped next to yours.
The downside
The cost of the tower, but thats a one off.
Potentially stock going OOD, but you dont have to fill the to the top.
Im reality we probably need a good mix of sites but I do think Snack a can have a very good business model.

Also known as The Vending revolution or the Jelly Bean Campaign Linda. They were the largest operators of towers in the country, 1000's, also sold a load of franchises and did their own sweets. Very successful in lots of ways but concentrated on what most would class as poorer sites. eg care homes, garages, barbers etc.

Re: What sites are best?
I have a few of those types of sites, I actually quite like them because as you mentioned they are always steady and dependable, and easy to plan for.
Although this sounds crazy, I actually find going to the same site constantly a bit of a pain! I have a couple of pubs that can call me up after a busy week and ask me to come back to re-fill, so much so that I'm considering investing in another couple of M108 machines to stop me having to visit so often!
The slow and steady sites are a lot easier to manage, and as you say can give you a great visit every couple of months without them getting too empty.

Re: What sites are best?
Barbers make up a significant number of my sites, so it looks like I stumbled onto the snack a can model without knowing it

Barbers seem ok, hair dressers are rubbish!
Best are factories/ warehouses that aren't quite big enough to have their own vending. Got a few of those with sweets on charity and Pringles on service only.

Hi Mark,
I know you managed to get the m108 for £160, how much are they new?
Cannot see any prices online.
I can see several sites that could do with these.
Cheers.

I'm not sure the price of a new one, I have only got the one at the moment and that came from Hurley's second hand.
I will be ringing Hurley's next week to get some stock so I will ask

I have a couple of towers and had one in a pub in pickering and it went missing with the last landlord lol.
I never thought anyone would bother to steal a tower (too bulky) but I was wrong.

Re: What sites are best?
Hi Andy,
I understand what your saying but it all depends if you have the time to find these these types of sites which are profitable
for example, if I pay tubz vending £35 per site but specifically request pubs, I know that 90% of the time the tower will be profitable and produce decent sales. However if I whenever I have accepted a poorer type of site such as tattoo/office it's a 50/50 gamble probably more 60/40 against you that the site is going to be worth having a tower in
They are out there just depends whether you have the time ad patience to find them
If your operating a large round, time taken to go out and install a machine is very precious as you only have a certain amount of hours per week to install due to the fact you are busting your balls the rest of the time trying to get to all your sites. So for me I only take the grade A sites
Cheers
