Hi all,
Not wanting to sound alarmist however, Sky News this morning mentioned the EU directive in relation to vending machines requiring electronic payment capability.
This has to be in place as I understand by 2020.
Now I have a significant amount of machines as I am sure some of you do!
Does anyone know anything about this directive as it is coming!
Or does this not involve the small tower vending machines?
The major suppliers are unlikely to phone any of us up and give the heads up are they, so does anyone have any idea what this is all about?
Cheers
Pablo

Re: EU DIRECTIVE
I havent seeen or heard anything. But most of these law changes only effect new machines. IMO they wouldnt expect retro fitting so it woulndt effect us as long as there is still a supply of 2nd hand machines.

Re: EU DIRECTIVE
Hi Pablo
I have not seen or heard anything either and I have searched the internet to try and find out some information.
They may be talking about it but not sure if it has been passed as a directive?
I would agree with Andy in that if they were proposing this then it may mean new manufactured vendors of a certain size, I can't see it for all the small stuff out there as it would not be cost effective to retro-fit the mechanisms and what's the benefit?
Another reason to leave the EU?

Re: EU DIRECTIVE
LOL!
That is exactly what my wife said " a good reason to leave EU"
I heard/saw it on Sky news early morning [Sunday]!
So in the grand scheme of things it is either in the network/or about to happen!
These EU MPs need to get out a little more

Hi Pablo
Agree, the EU MP's should get out more and get a proper job. It's a though they have to justify their positions and come up with stupid crap to change things that don't need changing.
If you do see or hear any more about the directive, let us know.
