ye petes got best idea, just need some pinch pliers to tighten clip up when putting back on, im usiing a dremel style rechargeble file so i dont actually need to remove plate, filing it while still attached.
just done 2 tomy mechs as well they are actually easier than sweet tower mechs, just need to remember how they go back together, and watch little springs inside, lose them and your stuffed.

Hi Ade,
Are you not replacing the plates? Reworking the existing to take the old & new coin? By reworking tomy mechs you must be saving abit on replacement mechs?
Regards,
Pete

Re: New pound coin
where is everyone getting the new pound coins that they are using to alter and test their mechanisms ? I know where to buy the sweet tower mechanisms from and guess the pringles will be available also. However I've got an old lighthouse bouly and also Meidhoff machines that are so old I assume I'll need to have a go myself, but don't know how to obtain a template coin?

Re: New pound coin
Thanks Ade,
Done about 150 so far, by replacing the plate, some are quite easy. Others need the mech to be ground out a little to accomodate the extra width of the new pound coin. I've got a few Dens & Bouleys which I'll t ry and do on-site but will need to get a battery operated grinder for that.
Regards,
Pete
