discarpa coin mechs

Post by Ade »

doing ok converting mechs to new pound coin although a dens toy machine gave me a 2 hour ball ache yesterday but i won in the end.
i have a double discarpa toy machine looks like the tomys but its orange and yellow, problem is the mechs are side loading for the pound coin so when i filed it down and inserted pound coin it fell out of plate.
anyone know if these mechs being sold anywhere with conversion done? its only mech to beat me so far.

cheers

The treasury recon within 2 months the old pound coin will be very sparse and the new pound coin will have almost taken over. Time will tell

Hi Ade,

Where on the Discarpa are you filing? I've been doing these and already have many on site working perfectly with both coins. I only file these (and other mechs) on the "lead edge" (the edge that passes through the mech first). This way the "back edge" (the one that primarily interacts with the leavers/fingers etc) remains untouched. If you're filing the "back edge" on the discarpa I'm guessing this will affect how the coins is held and would possibly result in the coin falling out as you are describing.

Jay.

are you doing the discarpas where coin slot is side on jay? what do you mean by lead edge? im filing where coin sits as it isnt wide enough, but as soon as i get it to new pound coin size then old pound coin (being slightly smaller) falls out of place, not completley but enough for it not to line up properly. im putting this is down to discarpa mech have side entry, as any top loading mech ive done is fine.

Hi, has anyone managed to solve this or is it a case of needing to buy replacements mechanisms x 2 per machine?
