Let me explain a little better.

I am not saying putting a different product in the towers i mean adding something to the tub of sweets or capsulated toy to add value to the customer.

If for example you have a tower from perform next to yours and you are selling the same range of sweets but you have my "idea" included with your tub then i am sure your tower would be the one that takes all the sales. Who knows you may even increase sales by 50 or even 100%!

Also i don't mean upping the vend price by 7p i just mean increasing the operators cost price by 5-7p.

Oh sod it i may as well tell you a little more.

It's a sticker to go on your tub of sweets or capsule. The sticker is very clever though and does a lot more than you would imagine!!!
Hi Lee,

I think you need to disclose what is on the sticker and what effect it will have, so we can make an informed decision.

Thanks,

Paul

Ok sod it then.

Each sticker will have a picture of a character or item plus a QR code and Numerical code.

You will either download an app on your smartphone or you go to our website when you get home and enter your code from the sticker.(the app will include the QR code reader)

Yes i know kids don't have smartphones but their parents do (56% of parents allow their kids to use their smartphone)
The website and numerical code is for kids with no smartphone or parents without a smartphone.

Children will open gameworlds based on their preferences. So a girl may choose a world based around fairys and will choose to collect fairys and items from the tubs of sweets.

Boys may collect Aliens and items such as space ships for their game world.

They fill the gameworlds by buying more Tubs of sweets and capsulated toys.

The codes are random so kids will have to keep buying your products to get different characters and items for the gameworld.

These stickers are aimed really at kids 4-11. Obviously the themes for the gameworlds will be different for kids of all ages.

Maybe you could collect a football team and play your friends or have a game like top trumps where you collect from the tubs of sweets etc.

It's an original idea (i think) so some of you may not like it. Try and see the positives though. It should mean kids will want your products and buy more than they normally would because they are collecting. Kids love collecting things.

What you think then?

Interesting idea .....the self potters and charity vendors may have room in their margins for this. Also if you are buying 90mm toy balls where capacity is about 180 balls this might also work. Be a bit of a ball ache sticking the stickers on as an operator....but some have more free time than others.

Very original idea though.....brilliant concept.

Thanks for the reply.

Yea i suppose you could spend the time putting the stickers on or i could come to some sort of agreement with the suppliers so they are already stuck on.

I have a vision it could be a new craze with the kids and i certainly think it would increase your sales.

With the 90mm toy balls, tubs of sweets and capsules how many products a week do you think these stickers could be put onto?
Maybe 10,000 balls, 100,000 tubs of sweets, 50,000 capsules???? So maybe 160,000 products per week?

The reason i wanted numbers was so i could see if it would be viable or not.

The game worlds would cost money to develop and run on servers, but i suppose the more products that go out with the stickers the cheaper the stickers would be.

7p multiplied by 160 thousand stickers is 11k ish a week!! On that basis i could sell the stickers at 4 or even 5p depending on the cost of the sticker to buy??

Thanks, Lee

Just quickly. If you have played video games before then the gameworlds would be loosely based around Theme Park, Sim City and Farmville the Facebook game. Rather than paying for premium content the customer simply buys more sweets and toys from you guys. Experience points will be gained in the gameworlds too so you can have extras for free.

Great idea.
My son is always playing different games on iPad or computer where you buy cards/stickers from shops then put codes in to open up new areas or characters.

How would it be advertised though on machines to get kids interested in the first place.

I would defo be interested in trialling this product in some of my play barns to see how sales go.
Only live in Northwich if you decide to do this.

Hi Mike. Yea we have spoken before I am from Northwich originally.
It was just an idea i came up with when designing my machine (taking ages)

With regard to advertising you would need some point of sale or something. Maybe one of those cardboard stands next to a machine or stickers on the machine. If you have a competitor with a tower next to yours i bet you would sell more sweets because the percieved value from the kids and parents would be huge. Something for nothing.

What are the cards your son plays? I would like to buy some and see what it's all about.

I really need lots of information about sales etc to decide if it's worthwhile. Could you take a 7p hit per tub on your costs?
If anybody has a price list for tubz vending and Hurleys that would be great. I could crunch a few numbers then.

If we say a tub of sweets is 35p and the sticker is 7p then thats a 20% increase in costs. I reckon you would have to increase sales by about 12% to keep your profit the same (would increase revenue though) Anything above a 12% increase in sales should see you making more profit. I think????

Like i say if you could let me know the games your son plays and a few price lists i will look at it in more depth. The costs could be really high though designing the gameworlds and characters.

why not team up with one of the franchises that already give licences for the capsulated toys. i've seen kids putting a fiver into my towers at a time for sweets, but I know this is a regular occurence for capsule toys when they are collectable and they are trying to get that last one. if you could work with someone like disney on this and put the code on the strip thats already on some capsule packaging then i think you'd be onto a real winner. as others have said the increased cost is only really bearable on the large capacity machines. Once you've got an economy of scale and some awareness about the games then you will probably be able to do these codes cheaper for the sweet towers and it will have a better effect on sales if its already something kids recognise from the other machines.

Hi. Who are the people that have these franchises for licences? I don't really know anything about suppliers either, so some suppliers names would be good?
