Re: Brace yourselves
Your right and to be fair I only play at this working full time as well. I admire anyone that can make a living out of this full time and appreciate its a struggle.
My best site (a pub) did record sales in the last week well 6 days actually of 82 pots Pringles/Sweets but speaking to the landlord he states his takings are down two grand a week since October so I know its tough.
I would have sleepless nights if this was my only income thats for sure. How many machines do you run incidentally? Interested as to what point you bite the bullet and go full time. There are days when I do a full days work then 6 hours vending on top which can be draining so would be interested to see when its viable and at what point.
Cheers

Re: Brace yourselves
I think you've gotta have 200+ mcs out to go full time and draw a decent wage. Should be turning over 6-8k a mnth thn.

I share your sentiments.
I am on first name terms with the directors of "pubwatch" a company that specialize in babysitting empty pubs in my area of Norfolk/Suffolk.
When the tenant does a runner( which seems to be happening all to often now) the breweries call in these pubwatch guys and they normally call me in to pick up my equipment but roughly 50% of the time it has been broken into.
Still. its easy to replace the locks or a few segments.
I give them £10 for there trouble and it has saved me a lot of potential losses of equipment!
All you guys out there who are 75% or more pubs, as I am, need to do a google search for pubwatch type companies in your area.
If that comes up with nothing, then you need to contact the big pubcos and ask them who they use for this service.
Enterprise, punch and Admiral are the main ones in my area.
There are also temporarry management companies that provide short term tenants to pubs that are either about to close or have been passed for change of use(residential).
You need to persevere to track down these companies and spend some time doing detective work and some time on the phone being passed from one person to another, but if you value your equipment, you have no choice
I'm afraid things are going to get worse for pubs and anything you can do to get a "heads up" on the doomed ones has to be a good thing!

Re: Brace yourselves
Steve, I also have a full time job and do vending aswell. i have about 150 machines out there but some are crap sites, I couldn't afford to go full time due to the unpredictability of this game
Went out on my round today lost 5 sites and 2 of these the new landlords 'pretended' not to know anything about a sweet machine that had been there for months, ffs have worked all day for nothing agh I need a beer been a loooonnnggg day
What I hate most about this game is the people we have to deal with, sometimes the scum of scum, thieving bstards
regards
Ross
