Funhouse Leisure
Did a pub today where I have a H4H machine and there is another sweet tower machine in there which was installed yesterday and its run by funhouse leisure. They have a contract with hurleys as the machine was filled with their stock. Will be expecting a call in the coming days from the area manager asking it to be removed. Funny enough it was hurleys who found me the site, so both machines have roughly the same stock.
Anyone else had this scenario?
Its worrying times ahead for independent operators, if both funhouse leisure and perform marketing get a monopoly on all respective pub chains to install sweet towers.

Re: Funhouse Leisure
Funny you should say that, I've had exactly the same happen to me yesterday , a sweet tower and a four head tomy both fun leisure apeared next to my tower in a Fayre and square pub. And today
Had a perform marketing tower plonked right next to my tower in another pub , neither of these pubs want the other machines in as they know they won't get anything like the service and choice an independent operator like me can offer them .

Re: Funhouse Leisure
I posted about this several months ago.
I have lost a few major sites to this company.
They started off with tubz vending products in sites they removed me from.
So i dont know why they have converted to Hurleys products.
As stated Fun house/Peform giving towers a bad name as they dont fill them very often and always left empty for a month.
And they only put 4 products in their machines. They look terrible.
Their main business is the big toy machines which they only tend once every 1-2 months.Does not work in tower machines
especially with the big chain pubs they have contracts with.

Re: Funhouse Leisure
I wonder how hard it was for them to secure the national contacts?
It's te most frustrating thing to happen to an independent operator but why not just play them at their own game? We can offer nationwide cover and contracts from the forum so all we need to do is get a decent group website together and pay a decent salesman to pitch to their head office.
We could steal the contacts they have by either offering a better service or more percentage commission. In this industry we will always be able to beat these large companies on price because we have such low overheads, this is massive ammunition we could use in beating them as in most industries this is not the case!
Regards
Ross

Hi Lee. Why dont you ring Paul at Hurleys, tell him whats happened with Funhouse. Sure Paul will sort you out a replacement site. I know thats not the answer, but might help!!! Re: Funhouse Leisure
If I lose the site then will go down that route Al, thats if they ever answer their phones!!
I go to a lot of pub chains where they have funhouse leisure equipment and I`ve never seen a sweet tower, so I think this is a new vending concept to them. The machine looked brand new and did look very smart next to mine. Even on their website the machine is showing salysol products and not hurleys products.

Re: Funhouse Leisure
hit them back, play at their own game. just go and site as many towers in known perform/funhouse sites as you can, and laugh it off when the area manager comes round and kicks you out. i take the same approach to an operator of any size, big or small, every time they do that to me.
i got one this week and area manager gave me an angry phone call the same afternoon. the difference is a smaller operator might just throw your machine in the back of his van but the area managers don't do that so its a pretty low risk strategy
but these big companies will eventually get sick of it if they come back after 2 months and have hardly sold any because theyve been competing with our towers. we just need to all fight back instead of all crying.
