Starburst for self-packers
70p for a 192g bag in Tescos until 22nd April. Original flavours and 'Fav Reds'.
Not quite as popular as Maoam but still good. At least I know I'll shift them all in the end.
I put 14 in a pot. (There are 11 or 12 in a regular 60p tube). 47-48 Starburst in a 192g bag works out at 21p for the contents of a pot which costs me 7-10p.

PS - The re-sealing label on the back is a good product label for the tower.

I'm sure they could, for a fee.part-time-operator wrote:can't tubz vending vending pack these for you
I'm guessing I'm a much smaller operator than you!

Re: Starburst for self-packers
Do they sell ok.
Might be worth a try I think as they are similar to maoam and they are a top seller.
How much are they normally without promo on them.
Thanks

you're paying the fee already when you buy the pots with a markup on them...

Re: Starburst for self-packers
Do you REALLY think I haven't already done the sums?!
tubz vending/Hurleys don't offer Starburst, but I CAN compare the price of self packing Maoam vs buying ready-packed Maoam off both/either of them, which I still sometimes do!
If you know how I can source a well-selling branded product, ready-packed and delivered for 30p/pot inc VAT, in the low volume I need it - then be my guest!

Like I said, if self-packing is so surprising to you then I'm guessing you're a lot busier than I am! I don't self-pack anything which isn't already wrapped and it isn't a long term strategy for me. I buy most of my stock already packed, off the usual suppliers.part-time-operator wrote: you're paying the fee already when you buy the pots with a markup on them...

Re: Starburst for self-packers
In most sites, Maom sells better. But they are a close 2nd and sell better than e.g. mini-eggs which also does ok and I have no plans to withdraw. Some of my machines have both Maoam and Starburst and both sell well.
For price watching, I suggest you set up a price alert on mySupermarket.co.uk (and enable email alerts). Full price for 192g is £1.40 but they are £1 in Asda at the moment. 70p in Tesco's is 46% off the average price this year.
As you probably know, be careful about buying anything similar from a pound shop - its usually a smaller bag. Although I did recently see 214g bags of Starburst Morphs in a local 'Home Store' for less than £1. I kicked myself for not buying the lot! Needless to say - all gone when I went back!

Re: Starburst for self-packers
Seems like a lot of money for self packing. I dont self pack anything that cost me more than about 27p total. Try fruit salads, blakck jacks, 400 in a box from Bookers for about £5.50. I put 10 in a pot.

Re: Starburst for self-packers
This costs me 29p total: 7.5p/pot + 21.5p/contents. Like I said, not a long term plan but offsets some of the non-selling, ready-packed stock I bought at the beginning. (Anyone fancy a Rip-Em, Vimto or Tango chew? Or perhaps a tutti-frutti bottle or some assorted bon bons?).
I reckon I'm saving about 10p/pot. I've probably packed less than 1000 piecemeal, so far, over the past few months. Usually whilst watching TV. Only a saving of approx £100 so you'd be right in thinking I'm under-valuing my time! I should be site finding instead. I'm working myself up to it….
