Beaver
After a bit of advice. One of my Beavers that vends mini eggs seems to empty far too fast and be short on cash. I was thinking it was light then the manager of the site asked me if it was short because he kept ssing people fiddling with it.
Any ideas on how this is happening and is there anything I can do to stop it.
Cheers

Hi Andy
Is the bulk a genuine Beaver or a normal Bulk Vendor?

Re: Beaver
Hi Andy
A Genuine Beaver has a beaver on the handle of the coin mech, whereas all others have a smooth coin mech.
If it's one of the replicas, then depending on which one it is, (there are a few), it could be that the springs in the dispensing wheel have become bent thus more product falling through if the vendor is "jiggled". Or, they could be putting in the coin, turning the coin mech half way leaving the gap open in the dispensing wheel and jiggling the vendor for the product to fall through.
Send me a picture of the ones that you operate and I will be able to identify it and hopefully give you the solution.

Re: Beaver
Thanks Barbara,
Id know the difference if I was on site but I cant remember and I have both.
I will look at swapping some bits on it and see if it makes a difference. Presumably Id be better if I make sure its a genuine Beaver? Have you got a fix if its putting a coin in and moving half way?
Thanks
Andy

Re: Beaver
Hi Andy
If it's one of the replicas, which most of the bulks are, then I should be able to advise on what to do or let you know what is causing the losses. I have never known issues with Beavers as they are good robust vendors and the majority of the replicas are also pretty good for safeguarding against 'jiggling' product out. I recall the Maidhof bulk vendors which we used right at the beginning, their dispensing springs were useless and Pete came up with a perfect solution which we sold back to the Germans!!
Other things to check.
The propellor on the adjustment wheel. There are three and it's used to change the settings of how much product you want to dispense for the vend. Check to make sure that the sides have not broken away as this will give out free eggs on each third vend if one of them has broken. This is quite common and unless checked you will be scratching your head for ages. To check you need to empty the head of product and check it. (I am writing this for others who may be new who may find the thread useful, so please don't think I am teaching you to suck eggs).
Hope this helps, and if you still can't get to the bottom of it, just let me know.

Re: Beaver
Hi , try lifting the hopper including the dispensing mechanism etc up away from the coin mech part of the machine and look underneath it to make suite the segment that is dispensing the eggs is exactly in the middle of the opening , as over time it can slip around so that if the punters waggle the coin mech they get free sweets. This happens on all the bulk machines so I always check this on every top up as it only takes a second to move the segment back into the middle with your finger.
Cheers
Pete

Re: Beaver
Hi Andy
Beavers have metal wheels so I doubt it's a part breaking off problem. As Pete says, check wheel alignment to make sure it is set at the correct place for the setting.
Sometimes the kids will use blue tac on the back of the coin which could keep the coin in the carrier for a few turns.
What percentage of losses do you think you are getting and is it a regular amount?
