Re: Ringtones
What phone you got Noel?
On my Nokia N95 through the menu Settings --> General --> Personalisation --> Tones --> Say Callers Name --> On/Off
Also my incar Bluetooth Parrot handsfree will say the cllers name for me when they ring.
Another way to do it, is set different ringtones for different contacts so you know for example when its the wife.
When my wife rings me, my ringtone is "WARNING... WARNING.... ITS THE WIFE!... THE WIFE IS CALLING YOU NOW!...."
I'm sure there's a few other ways to do it depending on what phone you've got, eg.. an IPhone will have an app available for it. A Nokia S60 compatible phone, will probably also have an app available for it.

I've got Nokia 6300's and 6500c's. Thinking of getting a Blackberry but not decided yet.

Re: Ringtones
Hi Noel, they are S40 based phones, which are very limited with the software they can run.
I dont think S40 software allows programs to run in the background, so you wont find an app that'll do it.
Also, it doesn't have the built in function to do it.
Looks like new phone time
