Freak tower barrel break
I have been called to a site tonight with a jammed tower. They thought it was a coin stuck in the mech and so did I until I removed the mech and tried to return it to the to, to replace the mech.
The barrel was solid and would not move either way. When I took the sements off, I could see that the top of the channel that the barrel runs in was missing. Part of it was in the product chamber, so I assume the rest had come out already.
What I am unsure about, is how this broke in the first place, as it does not seem to have any force upon it.
Any info welcome.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Freak tower barrel break
normally if the barrel wont move either way there is something stuck in the gaps either side, possibly the broken off bit, but also perhaps something from out of a jammed pot

Yes found lid has been jammed in b4 causing this - long nosed pliers needed to pull it out - job done

Re: Freak tower barrel break
hi paul, do you mean the back of the barrel, a piece of it broken away? had 2 or 3 towers do this, no explanation and no fix cure, break them down for spares.

I put a post on 2 weeks ago about needing spare barrels due to this problem.
Thin bit of metal on back of barrel cylinder had snapped off on several 4 year old machines.
Just bought part needed for £9.99 from tubz vending.
Dead easy to replace just dismantle bottom of machine slide off cylinder barrel from main fixed housing and replace with new one. machine as good as new.

Re: Freak tower barrel break
Hi,
Sorry for the delay. My telephone and Broadband has been off since Saturday night. Theives tried to drag the telephone cable out of the ground in the next villiage.
Having read the new posts, I think this is the same proiblem Mike and ade have had. See what you think, but I would like to know if this occurrs when the mech is forced; or when a tub is mis vended and trapped, or just wear and tear.
Thanks,
Paul
