Overfreezing crane model 431

Post by Lee@BIGBAPS »

Hello I have a crane 431 which has a build up of ice below the fan that blows cold air into the carousel.

I've fitted a new temperature sensor today, maybe the old one kept the compressor running when it was already cold enough. I won't know until next week when I check ifcthe ice has returned after de frosting.

Any other ideas? Maybe an electronic issue?

I've had a refrigeration engineer look at it and he says he can fit a device to the compressor to cut it out when the internal temperature is low enough but will that work with the existing electronics?

Cheers.

are both fans running, the compressor fan and the circulating fan? if they are and the chiller is actually running its prob low gas radiators usually freeze when low on gas.
can you check to see both fans running and let me know?

Both fans are running OK. When I had the fridge engineer look at it he re-gassed the compressor, maybe he missed something.

Stood at the machine now and the compressor kicks in at 6 degrees but only comes down to 5 degrees before going off again. Lowering to 5 degrees has so far taken around 10 to 15 minutes which seems a long time and it's still going.

I'm convinced the internal temperature is low enough, the drinks are icy cold but the sensor isn't recognising that and the compressor just keeps going.

Thanks.

The storage area to the right of the carousel is chocka block full of drinks all the time, not sure if that is relevant, the compressor is gonna have a harder time cooling all that down.

Is the circulating fan on the compressor running in the right direction?

That's blowing cold air up into the carousel.

It's set to run at 5degrees or less because it's designed for fresh food, is there a way I can raise that? I only sell cold drinks out of it so no health risk.

The machine works fine but im having to defrost it once a week week, ice builds up rapidly in the radiator below the fan.
