Frequent cup jams Stentorfield Riocca

Hello, I've had this Stentorfield Riocca for around 4 years. It's fairly busy selling around 100 cups per day.

I probably get a cup jam once every month, currently it's around once a week but then it can be a few months until it happens again.

The machine is level and I recently removed the cup drop assembly and cleaned it out although it was pretty clean anyway but the jams are still happening.

The cup drop divider looks OK so maybe it needs a new solenoid ?

I use 7oz squat cups and I have other stentorfield machines (mostly fusions) that are busier but cup jams are once a year or less.

What make are the cups?

Tedeco gizeh 7oz squat.

I use the same cups everywhere and it's only this one site that has frequent problems, some others are much busier sites and cup jams never happen.

Change cup dispenser, Ive got a couple spare I think if you have picture of dispenser

RPC are best cups to use

I have some pictures I'll post them tomorrow. Are there too many potential faults to just replace the solenoid in there ? I had someone else recommend replacing the whole unit.

I'll post those pictures tomorrow and I'd be interested in a price for a good second hand cup drop unit.

Yeh , no probs with there cups

Wouldn't bother messing around , takes 5 mins to change whole cup dispenser.


Probably cheaper than buying the solenoid from crane as well

Vendparts have the solenoid for £25.

I found the whole unit for £50 so bought one, thanks Matt.

Hi Matt, did you mean you could beat the price for the solenoid or the whole unit ?

I have the new unit but it's a pile of s**t, the red 'out of cups' lever snapped off the first time I tested it, the micro-switch that actuates the rotation motor is stuck and the whole thing was dirty. The bloke I bought from hasn't asked me for the money and he can have the unit back if he ever asks.

So I'm back on the market for the whole unit, do you have a nice clean one ?
