Its possible mate, prob is greasing every tower on site would be a nightmare. worth a shot at doing it to towers we get ready to go out though.

Re: Freak tower barrel break
I have a few stiff mechs. Perhaps this is what is causing the part to fail eventually. I will buy some spray grease and try swapping one of them with a greased up one and then examine the barrel when I get it home.
I will let you know what I find, but it will be sometime next week, or even the week after.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Freak tower barrel break
We get the odd one of those and it's usually when the machine is jammed and the handle is forced.

Thanks Noel,Vendingwarehouse wrote:We get the odd one of those and it's usually when the machine is jammed and the handle is forced.
This was a rugby club after a match when this happened, so it could have been forced. The landlord said it had a coin jammed when he called me, so this could have started it all. However, the coin was still in the carrier and was loose, so it may have been a misvend that started them off.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Freak tower barrel break
This is same problem that I have had in some machines.apparently it happens when machine jams and people try to force coin mech round.
I have just replaced a few barrels and they are working fine again.
I spray wd40 down an empty lane at back of barrel if coin mech feels stiff.this seems to lubricate barrel.just make sure you use straw provided with spraycan so you can aim where you need it.
