The Clenporte

Hi all,

Does anyone understand what the pin in the Clenporte barrel is for. You hear it klinking when the mech is turned. I have a machine that jams half way around, but when I release the pressure on the mech, the pin drops and then it vends perfectly. Do other Clenportes have the same characteristic.

Pin? I'm not sure what you mean. Where is it located?

Hi Daz,

The pin is in a tube within the barrel. It is a new machine, so this could be a new type of barrel. As you turn the mech past half way, you hear it clink. I know its a pin because I had to take one apart to get the mech out, as it was a super tight fit from new.

Ahh, sorry I thought you where on about coin mech.
I haven't got one like this but if new it could be like the Pringles ones where it stops the mech being turned too quickly.
On the pringles you turn it half way then a fraction backward before it'll continue turning. It stops jams.

Hi Daz,

That sounds similar. My concern is that someone will not release the preassure when it appears to stick and will force it creating a misvend. Do the Pringles ones have a notice on them to inform customers to release it. However, the other new ones I have out from the same batch are working perfectly, so customers probably know more than me.

No notice on them, they just work.
I think its positioned at the right point where the customer has to take their hand off for the 2nd half of the turn.

Sounds plausable to me. I assume the weight of the pin causes the jam and as it releases, it frees the mech up. Quite clever. How long before the Chinese copy it.
