Just to let all know i have now set up my own charity vending away from Help for Heroes.
I have had permission of a top charity to use thier logo's ect on all my equipment, and it could not have been any easier. They seem genuinley appreciative of the support and money that i will send to them.
So much better than the Help for Heroes system, now i can be in charge of what is happening rather than been dictated too, and i actually 100% know the money will go to the charity direct. It was very very easy to do and has taken less than 3 days to sort out with them.
It may seem like a bit of a daft post, but it's just to show new people out there that there are options other than what suppliers tell you do.
So, remember to make up your own mind on things, do not let suppliers dictate to you what you should do. Remember its YOUR business.
Best of luck to all.
Charity Vending
Re: Charity Vending
Fair play to you for doing that. I suppose some people just prefer working with suppliers especially if they are finding sites for them and maybe dont have time to set it up.
Re: Charity Vending
Absolutley. And i do think that is the hardest part for most new vendors is finding those sites, so they will take up the option of using the site finders offered by the suppliers, but as people who have been in vending a little while know, you really are tying yourself into a bad situation.
But it's the freedom you have when you are 100% running the business yourself, it makes life a lot easier when you start to expand and you understand the pro's and con's of vending. But everyone is differant and chooses a differant path, i was no differant when i started out, i used suppliers ect for stuff. I do believe though 100% independance is the key to being able to grow your business the way you want it to.
I personally now feel more comfortable with giving my money to the charity, i am not saying suppliers are doing anything wrong but i know if i am handing the money over directly i know exactly what is happening. And like i said in the previous post they seem really pleased that someone is doing this for them. I never had anything from H4H appreciating what i was doing, not saying i should have, but sometimes it's nice to be appreciated for what you are doing.

Do you think that suppliers who have signed a commercial agreement with H4H will allow others to use their site finding services for a different charity.
Re: Charity Vending
Nope.
And nor do i think you should.
End of the day if you make your bed you have to lie in it. If you decide you want to use thier service then you have to play the game, we have to be realistic in that suppliers make little from the site finding service but do from the repeat orders it creates.
Hopefully new vendors in the industry will possible read and have a think about things and assess other options.
You can only take the horse to the pond, you can't make him drink the water that's in.

I am the previous poster responding to the one suggesting he would expect a supplier to site find for his new charity link. I was trying to make him see that his suggestion is ridiculous. I dont see any of the suppliers site finding for another charity, when they have an agreement with H4H to raise a minimum amount per anum. Clearly, he has not thought it through enough.
Re: Charity Vending
I am lost.
If he is site finding and doing his own charity thing, then what is the problem?

Re: Charity Vending
If he is supporting another charity and expects either tubz vending, or Hurleys to help him find sites, he may find that they refuse.
Re: Charity Vending
tubz vending will insist that you sign a contract. Then they have you- like a venus fly trap.Guest wrote:I think all suppliers want to sure find for you is to buy their stock.
